MilViz P3Dv5 Installers are Out

Thanks.  Yes.  I've gone to the Milviz forum and did get the installers for the Beaver and the 310.  HOWEVER, have you seen the installer for the Porter PC-6?  I can't see a support forum for that plane.

Stan

You were able to find an installer for the 310? The support forums for the 310, B-55 and the Beaver do show up for me and there are links for the Beaver and B-55 and was able to download the new P3DV5 installers for these two aircraft. Did not see anything for the 310.

Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder.

The download link was attached to the 310 forum.  That's where I found it.  I still can't get my hands on the Porter Pc-6 installer.

Thanks, I still don't see any messages or announcements for P3DV5 installers in the 310 forum.  Did find an announcement with a link to version 3.180904 released Sept. 2018.  With some tinkering, I've had the 310R working in P3DV5 for awhile now.  Would be nice to have an installer to make the process easier.  Will wait a few days and see if it shows up.  I do not own the PC-6 but might consider it now that they have an installer for P3DV5.  Had no trouble finding installers the B55 and Beaver, so I must be going about it right.

In order to access the new installers, you have to have purchased the product, sent Osh an email (oisin @ milviz dot com), shown him your proof of purchase, and he will let you into the support forums.  At this time, we do not yet have the C310 as a v5 installer (it will be done... soon ish).

Once these installers are stable and proven effective, we will release them to our store and to our vendors.

It is not, unfortunately, our intention at this time to update all of our products.  We've done the ones that are "easiest".  That's where we stop (for now).

Work on the WXR continues.   Not sure when it will be done.

Well, I did get a download link when I clicked on the C-310 forum.  It's probably NOT the V5 link though in that half the gauges on the plane are missing when I load it.

Stan

ps.  I've decided to use the Alabeo C-310.  I actually think I enjoy it more than the Milviz.  Its sounds are more realistic and its graphics are better.

Hello Milviz, I bought the Beaver DHC-2 at Pc Aviator and did as you write to send an email to Oisin, which I did last saturday, no answer yet; what is the usual return email time frame ?

Thank you in advance

Maybe, but they will still work in the current v5 and at least with LM you're not forced to update.

I'm not saying Milviz are great, I mean they botched releases, complained about low sales yet only had a couple of v5 compatible aircraft to purchase, plus they created their own self-defeating circle of talk.

I certainly wasn't interested in purchasing from them given their lack of v5 aircraft, plus they shot themselves in the foot with their anouncements.

That said they do have some pretty nice planes and now v5 compatible, so that puts them on my radar.

The reality is if they compalin about updating P3D aircraft for each release, how are they going to handle MS with its forced update regime ?

I see planes breaking all the time in MS's latest update offerings, given there is no option to not update I would think a greater development technical debit will be accruing for developers, i.e. they will need to revisit their aircraft likely every MS point release, lest they be not usable at all.

They did say their plan is to bring their library over to MS, but who knows what the future will hold.

Could not have better said it. Fully agree with you. I use the  T38, DHC2, DHC3, PC-6 and B732 from them on P3Dv5.2 HF1. I gave up the radar. It's really bad marketing, they released the v5 installers only recently. The B732 is not officially v5 but once the radar is removed, it works perfectly. Only MVAMS is the problem not configuring into P3D5 but P3D4.
