Do you have an Xbox controller connected? I had this problem and it was caused by the controller that I use for the drone. The right stick wasn't centered and made the map move. It can also be caused by conflicting control bindings. It's not a bug. Try disconnecting your controllers and see if it still moves. It has been clearly stated that World Updates are to add new improved regional scenery and Sim Updates are to address functionality. The fact that they include some new functionality along with WU6 is a bonus. The does NOT mean however, that the dev teams are alternating between one and the other. Still separate teams working on each. They just have different release schedules - which, in fact, is what the community specifically asked for earlier this year back when they were releasing new sim update patches every month. What is amazing is how they clearly state in their pre release posts what is being fixed and when it is targeted to be released. Yet still, you get people saying "why wasnt XX included today?" when the simple answer is "It wasnt SUPPOSED to be included today". No matter how many times the devs themselves clarify they are working the issues and that they take the time the take, there will be people with demanding answers as to why the feature they want wasnt included anyway. I am not an employee at Asobo, MS, WT etc. so clearly everything I'm saying here is just my take on what I see (applied with a little dose of my own software development experience). But we DO get statements from all of them on a regular basis specifically agreeing with what I'm suggesting. Its your choice whether to take their word for it, or be continually pessimistic and cynical about it all. For something that is ultimately an entertainment product, its curious why anyone would choose to the later. 👍

Don't know why you were expecting that. World updates sell the sim fixing those lingering issues not so much! Chris Camp
September 8, 20214 yr Let me start off by saying I love MSFS, even with the frustration that has come with some of the updates (especially SU5). Asobo deserves much credit for giving us such a fantastic sim to play with (and sometimes complain about 😉 ) With that out of the way, I have to say the quality control/QA testing department has to be non-existent. I understand yesterday's world update was not a sim/feature update, so I have no issues with certain "bugs" not being fixed. But one of the well advertised improvements included in the update was the scenery pre-cache option, which admittedly seems to be working brilliantly for most users (including myself). Yet somehow the menu option for this new feature is completely missing from the VR menu. How is that possible if even ONE person is QA testing at Asobo?! I know the simple work-around is to manually edit the user.cfg file, but it is laughably embarrassing the menu option was apparently forgotten. Obviously there are plenty of other examples where quality control/QA testing appears to be severely lacking. I think we all understand the complexity of finding/fixing sporadic bugs as a QA tester, with the endless combination of PC configurations in use by simmers. But there is no reason obvious bugs that effect most all users (or in my example above - all VR users) should ever make it past even the most rudimentary testing. Another prime example is the night lighting that now only works correctly at 100% render scale. Am I to believe not a single QA tester ever tried the combination of night flying with a render scale other than 100? It almost seems more likely that no QA testing is being done - or if it is done, the results are largely ignored... Edited September 8, 20214 yr by PlumCrazy

But when somebody said that important bugs should have higher priority over new developments, we learned that there are a number of teams working simultaneously and independently, so no big issue. But, again, I totally agree with you. One thing at a time, be it WU, SU, or fixes. A.

For something that is ultimately an entertainment product, its curious why anyone would choose to the later. Pessimistic and cynical is a very unkind way of describing a person. And totally wrong if applied to me. I can't help noticing that while I, and many others, always keep the debate in the facts and opinions area, there is this tendency to derail any discussion towards personal definitions. I hope the mods will have the right way of dealing with this. A.

I'm beginning to largely think that it isn't Asobos fault entirely, but the pressures of dealing with MS and having set window time frames to release Updates. Even with a delay they'll want to get it out before long otherwise it could well over run into their next World Update creation program, but either way that cannot excuse the major lack of QA Testing when blatant issues arise. Do Asobo have a QA Testing program in house? Recent job advertisements suggest they do, but are these then turned over to MS for approval? Is that the area whereby everything falls apart perhaps? I've been very harsh on Asobo for a year now, constantly regressing areas, ignoring others, releasing updates with fresh new bugs, constantly breaking something that worked just fine previously etc etc. But maybe they're not the ones that are to blame, maybe their hands are tied somewhat and it's those leaning on them who need to up their game and get this stuff right.
