September 7, 20214 yr The approach bug. When you enter an approach into the MCDU the AC goes back to the previous waypoint. Absolutely basic stuff for any IFR flight that I guess if it isn't fixed after a year, will never be fixed?

Now all the teams have collapsed into one that needs to concentrate on one aspect at a time, to justify that some bugs have not been addressed .... Interesting. A. But that isnt whats implied here. It has been clearly stated that World Updates are to add new improved regional scenery and Sim Updates are to address functionality. The fact that they include some new functionality along with WU6 is a bonus. The does NOT mean however, that the dev teams are alternating between one and the other. Still separate teams working on each. They just have different release schedules - which, in fact, is what the community specifically asked for earlier this year back when they were releasing new sim update patches every month. What is amazing is how they clearly state in their pre release posts what is being fixed and when it is targeted to be released. Yet still, you get people saying "why wasnt XX included today?" when the simple answer is "It wasnt SUPPOSED to be included today". No matter how many times the devs themselves clarify they are working the issues and that they take the time the take, there will be people with demanding answers as to why the feature they want wasnt included anyway. I am not an employee at Asobo, MS, WT etc. so clearly everything I'm saying here is just my take on what I see (applied with a little dose of my own software development experience). But we DO get statements from all of them on a regular basis specifically agreeing with what I'm suggesting. Its your choice whether to take their word for it, or be continually pessimistic and cynical about it all. For something that is ultimately an entertainment product, its curious why anyone would choose to the later.
September 7, 20214 yr What amazes me is that a new update to fix things can keep breaking OTHER things that weren't broken before, and NOBODY at MSFS knew that until AFTER the release? Current example is after installing this update you can't (for now) use anything OTHER than 100 in the Render Scaling or all the ground night lights get dorked elevation-wise. And even more incredible is when that is presented as a "problem" in the MSFS forum the response seems to be that NOBODY knew that would happen. Really? NOBODY NOTICED that if someone was using a setting of 80 or 120 didn't have ground lights anymore (at 80) or that all the ground lights were floating above ground now (at 120), etc.? WU6 and night lighting broken - Bugs & Issues / Scenery - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums I'm not a programmer, but gimme a break, eh? I was a Quality Control Manager for numerous years in the Air Force. With MSFS I'm beginning to feel like I paid $120+ to be a beta tester. Don't get me wrong, I think the sim is overall good. But the above stuff is totally stupid from a customer service standpoint, let alone a responsible development team. EDIT: At least I seriously doubt it will take long for them to push out a "hotfix" for it, in as much as it also caused the same problem for X-Box users...who don't even HAVE a Render Scaling slider to do a "work-around" for it right now. So yeah...how was it not noticed by anyone who may have tried the update on an X-Box? Quality Control before release? Uh.... 🤔 Edited September 7, 20214 yr by FalconAF Added link to topic in MSFS forum Rick Ryan

They full well knew about all of the 'riddled w/ bugs'. The 'service update' was the Xbox port, w/ PC users dragged along kicking and screaming. Could it be they don't have unlimited resources, and have other timelines to priortize? Of course. I'm super glad they have the big picture and don't respond to every whining complaint at Avsim and elsewhere. 'They' don't need to score any points they know full well in spades they have a massive winner. For anyone who thinks they need a new Captain, or who otherwise can't see the massive incredible forest for a few dead trees, best delete it and go back tried and true FSX where you can count on the entire product being one unwieldly piece of garbage. And while you're there be sure to buy $800 worth of content to help you cope with the default garbage. Sorry, the inveterate whining is just unbelievable to me. I'm ultra stoked now to be sitting at the gate at FSDT's lovely KORD, in the 787-10, w/ ultra heavy weather and am absolutely loving the fact the expensive 3080Ti is now using its VRAM. I can now pan up/down/sideways in total smoothness. With LOD 300, RS 120, I'm seeing VRAM of 10.3Gb and this will be one of the most demanding scenarios to find anywhere on the ground. Main thread: ~48%. GPU utilization: ~68%. Unbelievably smooth and stutter-free. The ALT/ATC mismatch appears to have been fixed as well, as stated in their release notes. I don't disagree with you Noel, but feel like they could have said "This is going to be a massive XBox port over, please expect a ton of things break" and I guarantee the feedback on social media would be a lot different. Heck, I overall didn't whine as much as I usually do because I understand for the most part everything you've mentioned in your post, minus the willingness to wait 6 weeks to address annoyances like the ATC/altitude issue, which could have been addressed in one hotfix.
