Tooltips mod

Featured Replies

I was using the smaller-more-transparent tooltips mod from https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftFlightSim/comments/ipdrir/i_think_ive_removed_the_tooltips/ and loved what it did with the tooltips. During an update (I believe it was SU4 but can't remember) Asobo changed the Tooltips and they are no longer able to be smaller and more transparent. In fact, they now take up twice the realestate that they use too. Does anyone no of a mod for them other than just disabling them altogether that is compatible with the current MSFS version?

Might it be this?

I think he means tooltips , not toolbar.

Yep.

The amazing toolbar mod from https://github.com/kaosfere/msfs-toolbar-nohandle still works after all the updates, but the tooltips mod doesn't. It removed or made smaller and more transparent the tooltips that pop-up over all the buttons and controls.

MSFS made them able to be turned off in one of the updates but when they did that they increased their size dramatically if you choose to keep them on. They also made the mod that made them smaller and more transparent no longer work.

I'm just wondering if there's a mod out there that will make them smaller and/or more transparent if you do decide to keep them on?

I can't believe that someone that resized these tooltips at Asobo, didn't realize that they now cover 1/4 of the panel.....I just turned them off.

Maybe it looked fine on xbox to them.

I had to turn them off too once asobo made them supersized. OK when you are flying an aircraft you use regularly but not too good if you are trying to fly something new.

The new tooltips no longer have useful information either. For example, the mixture lever(s) used to display the percent open value.

I'm thinking turning them off is the best option for now.

I would think a 3rd party developer could make some money with a mod that lets' you set the tooltip size and transparency. The lack of such a mod makes me think figuring out how to do this is not easy with current MSFS or SDK 'obstacles'.

I make them permanently transparent by turning them off. If I get a new addon I learn how to use it so that I don't need tooltips.
