Help with re-install, please

Featured Replies

I was having difficulty getting some downloads into my Community folder after my upgrade to Windows 11, and I just got frustrated to the point that I uninstalled MSFS.  I wish I hadn't, but what's done is done.  I bought it when it first came out on the Microsoft Store.  I bought the top version (Premium Deluxe) and now it seems I cannot find a clear path to re-installing it to my M2 drive (where it was before).  I've visited the store and cannot find a true INSTALL button which acknowledges that I own this product. I do not want to have to buy it again.  I've played with it most of the morning trying everything I know to get this sim back on my hard drive.

If you know the correct way for me to reinstall my purchased product, please let me know.  I would be very appreciative.

Have you logged in with the same MS account that you used when you purchased the product?

If so, the MS Store under My Products, should list what you own and offer an install.

As a workaround, also download the XBox app and log in there.  That seems to work for some.

Yes.  It does offer an install, but when I click on it NOTHING happens.

Wish I knew what to do next... MS can be infuriating in its complexity.. and the MS Store is "word not allowed".. IMHO

Did you try the XBox app?

I wish I COULD talk to someone at Microsoft.  There is also an old email in Microsoft that I haven't used in years that keeps coming up asking for a password.  I've tried everything to expunge it...to no avail.  If Microsoft could simply check to see if I bought Flight Simulator, they COULD give me a code to buy it again (not really buy it), and that should solve the problem of it being able to be downloaded.

Stan,  did you try resetting the MS Store app?

Start/settings/Apps/MS Store - click - select advanced options - scroll down and select reset.

Might help,

If I was in your situation I would give up the MS Store version and buy the game from Steam instead, life is too short to have to put up with that MS disaster.

Yes. Just did it.  No change.  I can start the game, but the PRESS ONE KEY comes up, and when I do that, a rectangular box comes up with my sign on name and says to choose an email account or another account to sign on.  I do that and it goes back to the PRESS ONE KEY and round and round with the email sign on.  It doesn't go anywhere.

You may be right lxoye. If I don't get a solution soon, I believe I will do that.  So, you have no problems with STEAM?

No, nothing at all, it has worked flawlessly since the game was released.

Hey Stan,

I just did a format c drive (win10) and formatted my MSFS2020 drive  and bite the bullet and installed win 11 by logging into windows account and downloading the USB method of win 11 installation went pretty smooth.  Then couldn't figure out how to install by msfs by MS Store method until i read i had to have XBOX app and be logged into that also to find the three versions of MSFS2020 (Standard,  higher level one, and the deluxe.... 12 hours later MSFS220 reinstalled, does not help wife decided too work till 2 in morning also while i painfully watched slow download.

Hope you figure it out

Steve
