The second one looks like during the day, not realistic for sunset. I guess it depends on where you live. Asking to fix that for you will "unfix" that for others, so what they should do is give users options to change the colors, like REX used to do. November 16, 20214 yr Can agree, some minor tweaking in the sunset / sunrise shading based on location would be nice. Being from Denmark, you rarely get these full fat saturated sights and the nuclear bloom. Again, that second shot is not realistic for some countries, it may be realistic for where you live. November 16, 20214 yr fair enough, so the sim lighting is only realistic in certain parts of the world right now, which is a shame

I honestly spent 2 mins on this, I suspect it might make the sim look ridiculous in other weather conditions/times of day, but it took away the ridiculous nuclear winter orange effect I see so much in the sim when it's bright outside in the real world which totally kills any motivation to fly when it looks so different to real life lighting at the same time - it's really quick to enable and disable effects when the time of day changes if it does look bad elsewhere, I quite like the effects of the Sharpen filters as well Hey that's great - thanks! Yes I agree. The real world sunsets and sunrises can be quite vivid occasionally, but in general, I don't see them with such an orange tint all over them. They seem to last longer than they should as well. Not a major criticism from me as I know the sim needs a few tweaks here and there, and it's good compared to what I had in some previous sims. Although some of the later environmental packs for FSX were right on the money, with quite naturally stunning sky colours at all times of the day. Why some people don't see the strong orange tint, I don't know. Maybe it is just a personal perception thing, so nobody is at fault. So thanks. I will try it and give it a tweak it a bit if I need to. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). When I did the rounds (OK, yes I was a plane spotter), I seemed to remember it wasn't too far from Hatfield, the home of the BAe 146, which looks to be coming to MSFS soon as well. I lived in Welwyn Garden City for 20 years. Lots of 146's overhead test flying until it closed - I was just 4 miles from the end of the runway. the 146 Pro addon will be purchased by myself seconds after release 😁 CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090 Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440 Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

The problem is the sky colors (specially at sunset and dawn) are different depending on where in the world you are, so they can't please everyone. The only way to please everyone is for a 3PD like REX to come up with an addon that lets people pick up the colors that are realistic for where they live. I guess REX didn't do this yet because the SDK doesn't permit, but I hope they can do it soon. I was already playing with overlay to achieve more realistic look. Problem I came across is that it has to be dynamic. If we set correct colour on ground then when we reach cruise level it will look way too cold. I was trying to look for solutions to do this automatically but with no luck. Maybe reshade? Obviously people most affected by this are who live/fly in countries where overcast is 6 out of 7 days a week... like UK. Must be a reason why I haven't seen much discussions about this.
November 17, 20214 yr 😁 i think you might be onto something there, it is predominantly cloudy all the time in the UK was flying with this a bit yesterday and yes, it doesn't look good anywhere else unfortunately, so it's a very limited "fix" I agree that, if Asobo don't see this as a big issue, or an issue at all, we may be reliant on 3rd party devs to give some dynamic means of fixing this
