Sorry to show my ignorance, but what does this addon do? Does it improve the AI Aircraft, and Airport operaions.?

Have a look this is what it brought to FSX/P3D (Note this is not my work I provide the link only)

MSFS offline AI still has some issues. It will go around a lot, and it has the altitude problem that players had when SU5 released. ATC thinks it's too high or two low when it's correct, so if you're using in the game ATC, you will constantly hear the ATC telling flights to descend or ascend, which can cause them to miss approaches since they won't be low enough in time.

They also taxi too slow on runways, so you'll have lots of planes waiting for runways to be vacated and flights going around. That's something that can't be edited by third party yet.

Some default airports also have misplaced/missing hold short points. So at airports like KJFK and CYYZ, you'll have planes just stop in the middle of the runway and never leave until the AI system cleans them up for being inactive.

That video is really nice.  But wasn't Asobo planning to do everything in that video within the next 2 years? To be fair, I guess 2 years can be a long wait though, so I am glad AIG is coming out with this product very soon.

Yes and no. Asobo is only doing live traffic, so it wouldn't look anything like this.

I'm pretty sure Jorg said he wants to get the liveries from as many major airlines as he can around the world.  Although it may not be as comprehensive as what AIG is doing.  What else is in AIG, aside from liveries and ground traffic?  Is AIG also doing the various models of planes that don't exist in MSFS yet?

@Kaiii3 could answer this better.

Installable with OCI are flightplans (offline AI), Repaints and SimObjects for MSFS 🙂

I too am a bit confused though very excited about this.  I stopped using MS flights sims about 10 years ago.  I have been in Xplane only, and that had the fantastic Global Traffic addon.  So, I don't know AIG or what they can and cannot do, thus a few questions from users from the MS sim world, maybe your best guess at this point based on prior use:

  • Is this an 'AI' mode only? (not integrated with LIVE AIRTRAFFIC)
  • Where would the flight plans come from? How reasonably current (concerned for a lot of defunct airlines)
  • Do the represented airlines operate at their real world airports? (i.e. not having LOT show up at say KSEA)
  • Expected to run 'in game' vs a separate running app with its own GUI?
  • Ease of setup? (ike is it 15 different steps from 5 different website plus manual editing or like one or two clicks)
  • Extent of user modifications? can one expect that after formal release there will be a ton of uploaded user mods following or does that not really apply
  • Payware? Freeware? Donationware?
  • Framerate hit?
  • Liveries matched to reasonable airframe type? or is everything you see a generic twin jet, quad jet of the same model.
  • I assume no General Aviation ability, correct?

Thanks guys, I simply don't have any prior experience with this AIG group as I thought they only did repaints.

Does it integrate with ATC ??

My question as well.  While I typically only use the in game ATC for my outside of the US flying....it would still be nice .
