Ultimate Traffic MSFS

Is it doeable / possible?  Still hoping ASOBO figures the traffic thing out.

 Cheers

Just use AIG, it's free.

Traffic is not a big thing as I avoid metros.  Nice to see the variety of paints though.  Leary of the fps hit.

Just reduce your traffic level to something manageable for your PC. UTL was certainly not any better on FPS than AIG and didn't have anywhere near the variation in models and liveries that you would get from AIG.

UT is dead, even for P3D. There was a corresponding posting in the F1 UT forum a couple of months ago.

Very unfortunate, F1 was unable to save it for us.

UTL had one big advantage: It was mangageable by the average user. No doubt, most of the AVSIM regulars around here will get AIG installed after some time and numerous forum questions and tutorials, but I doubt the average user or even beginner has a chance.

And yes, I know what I'm speaking about, w.r.t. AIG as well as UTL.

I managed it with some help from fellow members. I had managed to work through it, but my mistake was i had not realised that AIG traffic was pointed to the incorrect file. Sorted it and it's working great now. It really is amasing to see and hear constant movements of aircraft, and liveries that are so realistic. No pointy noses here.

I have even started using ATC (after giving up on it months ago) which does seem to have improved since the last time i tried it. But the immersion this all provides is fantastic imo, and MS/Asobo would do really well speaking to these guys to get AIG involved.

I'm hoping that Traffic Global comes to MSFS. The UI is a little cumbersome to use for Prepar3D, the flight models look nice but could use some sprucing up for MSFS. For X-Plane it is a simple install without the need to compile traffic.

Yes UT traffic didn't require the user to have a nervous breakdown trying to install it and get it to run correctly, like AIG. Was decent on FPS too.

These ideas would be nice but we won't see these for a long time, if ever. AIG is here now and it works. Really, it's not that hard, it looks great, and will get better over time. It's worth a small amount of effort just to never hear the word "generic" again!

I never thought setting up AIG  in either P3D or MSFS was an issue myself. More of the vocal minority thing that creates an illusion of difficulty. Sure it's not as simple as installing UTL but there's also  a lot more to it.

Some, like me have grown not to fuss too much with our toys.

I especially dislike stanalone apps even though I wrote one for FSX/P3D years ago.

I have piles of patience. 🤤

I agree. A small number of people (one of whom is above in this thread) who have seemingly posted with immense passion across a number threads just how difficult AIG is to setup. Its beyond me why somebody would be so passionate to make something sound so difficult.

Given that literally thousands of people have got it working in the past few days I'd suggest these comments reflect more on the capabilities of the individual than the software itself.
