As RobA commented, DX-12 implementation is not a trivial thing, so I absolutely expect serious hiccoughs with this one.  But that's fine I'm 1000% certain any issues will be resolved and likely fairly quickly at that.  I'm beyond grateful Asobo is managing the entire project they've been nothing short of spectacular.  I really enjoyed reading comments by Jorg in the recent interview here which can be summarized as they remain fully committed to the 10y project and stability will be a focus in 2022:

I am with you on that Noel.  It's just that the comment was made by Nyxx, not me.  It looks like the quote got mixed up somehow.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Negative anticipation is in my genes.  Some would equate that with my cup being half empty but ironically I'm almost always the guy coping well with hiccoughs whereas some others here are everywhere from whining to full on enraged when things don't go perfectly well.  Works for me 😉

I just want to wish everyone good luck tomorrow.  If no one comes back.to post success within 24 hours after the update is made available, I'll call in the air strike. 😉

Those that suceed will probably be flying and not posting..  expecting success posts is kinda counter productive. 🙂  Especially on a forum such as this that seems to attract many expecting ( or looking for) failure 🙂

Me I use steam and have never had an update failure as such, and I shall be making absolutely sure that I do NOT switch on DX12 for at least a few months yet..  I can see nothing to be gained from going to DX12 at this stage apart from potential heartache from errors at a Windows level in a system, that for me, is currently operating extremely well 🙂

I’ll be making absolutely sure I do switch it on 😃

Why does the night before a MSFS update always feel like an GI's last night before D-Day for me?

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
