I was expecting SU6 with trepidation because they promised they would fix the flyback bug. Now it's been pushed to Feb 2022. DX12 is also mentioned as "SU7 + 2022" and the fact it will be switchable with DX11 makes me think of a wrapper type implementation (as Battlefield 1, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, etc.) therefore with no additional features and worse performance/stability for now. I am glad they continue to update the sim and I liked the pop-in and morphing improvements + the cubemap reflections upgrade in SU6 but I continue enjoying it without thinking about updates too much... for me it's already in good shape and certainly absolutely the best sim on the market. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

November 15, 20214 yr I just hope that the new weather engine improvements bring correct depiction of haze, visibility in live weather. That's all I am in interested in. Baber My Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/HDOnlive

But, Vulkan was, I believe, a total re-write of much of the way XP11 works and took a long time. From what I'm reading, the DX12 implementation is more of an add-on instead of being baked into the sim. I guess we'll find out soon. Rick Abshier 5900X | RTX 5070 Ti OC| 64 GB@3600 | India Pale Ale
November 15, 20214 yr As is always the case with updates, temper all expectations you have. What you should hope for is that the sim is in no worse a state than before the update and consider anything beyond that a bonus. Edited November 15, 20214 yr by Matchstick

Hopefully some of them would have had the opportunity to test beforehand anyway. I believe most of us would be all in on that! Those are nice to haves. What I want is contemporary accuracy and respectable ATIS/AWOS. November 15, 20214 yr For me the sim is running flawlessly right now so the old saying comes to mind - if it's not broke don't fix it .
November 15, 20214 yr On the one hand I look forward to the update, I am interested to try the Porter and to see what this does with weather and flight dynamics. It certainly is a sizeable update. On the other hand, I have the sim running very, very well and have been enjoying flying and I do not look forward to what will likely be tens of gigabytes to download and install and then hope it all works out. I still have scars from sim update 5. MSFS 2024. November 15, 20214 yr Lets just say. I haven't deleted my P3D or X-Plane. Yet. But if this is a good update I will finally say good bye to these wonderful old sims.... ROG MAXIMUS X HERO, Intel Core i7 8700K, 32 GB's 3200 RAM, Gigabyte RTX3080,
