November 28, 20214 yr I had the not so good surprise today of finding the old G1000 on my Porter front panel. A little investigation, in the Content Manager, showed me that the NXi was not installed (it was yesterday !)  and there was a new version 9.2. Now, somebody will tell me that everybody knew that 😆 but there are may be some uninformed and non-discorded simmers who don't. November 28, 20214 yr Have noticed the same lately. That's because I try to avoid to open the Content Manager these days because of the Easy Mode bug. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) -  64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) -  RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR -  Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) -  MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
November 28, 20214 yr I don't feel urged myself to use the NXi, I'm meanwhile sticking with the old and reliable GTN750 (PMS50). Could someone please comment on the reliability of the NXi current beta (I guess the newest v9.2)?. Thanks in advance!. November 28, 20214 yr I never knew - thanks Dominique! Working Title Garmin G1000 NXi v0.9.2 Issues Resolved - Fixed issue where RNAV was using incorrect units for GPS altitude causing wrong vertical guidance. I suppose I will have to reset my assistance settings again after a trip to the marketplace. Strange about your v.0.9.1 going missing! I wonder if it uninstalls or deactivates itself automatically if a new version becomes available? It works for me but an important caveat, I use it for the basic. I don't do, or rarely, complex large hub procedures. But flying in the boonies it does a good job to help you aligning your aircraft on the final trajectory even without any RNAV, it has a relief map to show you what is higher than your present altitude ahead etc. I had the F1 750 in P3D, the only thing I miss right now is to have it compute the TOD and descent slope but I am quite certain that it does, just that I have not yet discovered it. Easy to download with the Content Manager btw not the barely comprehensible github site. It settles in the Official folder.  Edited November 28, 20214 yr by Dominique_K Dominique Simming since 1981 - [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam Â

An interesting point that I already noted from 8 to 9. It seems that our good friends at Redmond shamelessly pull out the old version from our folder without asking the permission. But, then again, we are good friends, aren't we ?It is only to help the poor sods that we are.  And their well-paid lawyers have set a proper line in the EULA.  Dominique Simming since 1981 - [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam Â

If you use the PMS50's GTN750 in MSFS2020, go to its Utilities Menu on the main screen, and in Vertical Profile you can set the offset value from your destination waypoint (mostly the destination airport, but it's selectable if it's on the planned route), the vertical speed rate in FPM, and it'll message you when you're approaching the TOD (I think 3 minutes before, not sure). The menus and options should be very intuitive. Globally the NXi is way less intuitive than the 750 but then again the learning curve for anything gets steeper with the years 😄 (my garden grows larger too, go figure !). The NXi is a nifty peice of kit and as I do not want to multiply addons, I 'll stick with it for now. The fact that GTN is a touch screen device makes it far more intuitive by nature. I think I'll be installing the NXi in the near future. Regretfully PMS50 states their GTN750 is not compatible with the NXi (as strange as it sounds, it cannot replace it, as it's the way it works). November 28, 20214 yr I am warming up to the NXi slowly.  The working Nearest pages on the PFD is very welcome in my cockpits with the fully functional Direct To being so easy to use. I am a dyed in the wool GTN user also.  I don’t think I will ever get used to the Twist and Turn Garmin Outer/Inner knobs with the press and cuss center button. I like the touch and go method using the GTNs. Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

November 28, 20214 yr Author @edpatino after a cursory search in the big manual on-line and fumbling in the MFD I don't think that you can compute yet your ToD and profile of descent in the NXi. November 28, 20214 yr It's extremely confusing to talk about the GTN 750 in a thread with the title NXI - two different devices. And let me repeat this for the thousand'th time: if you really want to get the most out of the G 1000 NXI you need to follow the discussion on WT's discord - where folks post their flightplans, screenshots, etc. If you want timely help from the developers, that's the place to be and post.Â
