It Has Become Nearly Unuseable Using Avsim On MY Phone.

Featured Replies

Normally I accessed Avsim on Chrome when using my Galaxy phone. Lately, the pop up ads had made using the forums nearly impossible though. Yesterday, I logged in on Duckduckgo and problem solved. Peace. I can use the forums with no annoying pop-ups interfering when I read or post. I bookmarked in Duckduckgo and I am going to make it default browser on my phone if I can figure out how to do that.

Thank you. I will give it a look. Google products are annoying with their ad spamming. I guess to aggravate us out of our $$$

Another option is to use the default Samsung browser, coupled with a freeware Ad Blocker.  Works for me.

I use Firefox as the default browser on my phone with duck duck go as the default search engine. I also use uBlock origin on there. I'm not sure why people still use google. It became obvious to me a couple years ago that google was no longer showing me what I was asking for but what it wanted me to see. It was actively hiding stuff from me.

On my mobile Android it's very annoying.  Ads at top and bottom (and sometimes you scroll)..

They block the notification menu in the top right and they block the bottom black banner that shows new replies etc.

The worst PC browser for adds is Google Chrome. Masochists like it I guess.

Lol.  Never had issues back in the day but avsim must be hosting a ton of ads in the last few months.  Probably people aren't donating.

Also fwiw I downloaded duck duck go just now for my mobile...it did block most of the ads but the top ad is blank...still covering my notifications area.  I'm guessing Firefox will be the same.

Edit yep Firefox shows the same annoying blank ad bar (ad blocked but the background covers up notifications).

Maybe airlines will have the pilot announce sponsored adds to the passengers!

Don't give Michael O'Leary any such ideas.

Adding a simple ad-blocker solves the problem. I haven't seen an ad of any kind on any site in years of using Chrome.

Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.

Hmmmm. Youtube movies that say 'free with adds'. Well, they're free without adds here on Firefox. Its a Mad Mad Mad World for instance. 2 hours, 40 minutes, 0 adds. YT movies just play straight through without interruptions. Maybe they do on Chrome too with the right add blockers.

I'm using duckduckgo now for search and browser. No pop-ups so far. I think I'm done with Chrome on the phone. I just use edge on my pc but I don't internet a lot on it.

I'm not sure if the devs take requests, but if they do, is it possible just to trim the forum displays a few pixels top and bottom, so the adds have a dedicated space on mobile? I can't click "View notifications" or "Show New Posts" because of the ads; but I could if the actual forum where made smaller.
