Thank you for sharing the link. Given the slim study-level offerings for the most popular sim, it's likely the evident migration away from P3D is from users valuing visual scenery over system and procedural simulation as immersion factors. For the latter group, migration speed will be based on the speed of available study-level airplanes on the popular sim and we know that's not going to happen overnight. This, of course, given P3D remains as is with no major update (graphics engine, etc.).

Also before people predict the death of P3D I think they should consider how many commercial users there are using it for military training, I don't expect many of them took part in the Navigraph Survey and don't get a copy free with XBox game pass.

Something is very wrong here. Almost the same percentage of simmers use FSX as well as P3Dv5?

9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung,  AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.

Also, important to note is that participants on the AVSIM forums dropped almost 10% compared to last year...

But will these commercial/military licensees purchase "civilian" add-ons like Maddog, Q400, FSL Airbus, PMDG:s Boeings? Perhaps some are already ( I am not in the know how).

I'm not worried that P3D will "die", the bigger issue is unsupported payware addons as new versions of Prepar3d are released due to developers simply have opted out. We are seeing this already.

Don't think so. I was surprised to discover that a good amount of users switched from FSX to MSFS directly without using P3D or X-P in the meantime.

Yes I agree, 3rd party addon development has slowed to a crawl and support may well be withdrawn for existing products. But I'm happy with my hangar as it stands, plus the FSLabs Concorde would keep me busy learning new things for a long time. If existing developers start making money from MSFS there should be no reason for them to withdraw P3D products entirely, at least that's what I hope!

Another surprisingly result for me is that the amount of Xbox users is not as high as I would expect, or it's just that they did not participate very much in this survey?.

The average XBox user probably couldn't care less about the Navigraph flightsim survey.

The average xbox user doesn't even know what Navigraph is.

Yes, tend to agree, but Navigraph was not the only partner to gather data for the survey. There were almost 26 different partners involved to collect data from users.

Anyway, maybe the others are also not very known to Xbox users either.

FYI, the most relevant charts on market share among Navigraph survey takers is on page 58 and page 59.

The survey based on this year:

The survey based on last year:

According to this chart, MSFS has probably taken market share away from P3D over the last year, among Navigraph survey takers.

X-Box users are the least likely to participate in the Navigraph survey.  Navigraph survey takers are most likely the most "hard core" of flight simmers and most X-Box users are very casual flight simmers.
