Live weather down for beta users

Featured Replies

A great way to start the new year.  Looks like live weather is down for in the beta version.  I'm sure this carries over to the regular version with visibility issues.  I was having a good time with the sim all week.  Not holding to much hope this will get resolved over the New Year weekend.  It's back to static weather which was what I was using prior to trying the beta... 😌

Same issue here using the last official update. Metars were reporting heavy rain and strong winds aloft, yet it was clear skies and variable winds out to the horizon.

No live wethaer in non beta version either.  Got REX on the go instead

Live weather issue has been solved —> no live weather anymore ⛈️

Isn't REX Weather Force just a bunch of presets? (Just asking).

No it is also a metar-based weather injector.

Thanks a lot. I will head over to their site and buy me a copy.

Live weather is fine in Alaska this morning, I am not on the beta.

REX is static pop in weather, nothing like the default engine. Think of early FS9 weather before Activesky 3.5.  Asobo needs to update their SDK before third party developers can properly develop on the new engine.

Huh?

This is the problem I have with them having "no plans" to open up the weather system to 3rd party devs.  If Asobo can't get it right consistently, open it up to someone who can, there's really no excuse for these issues at this stage nearly a year and a half after release.  Live weather not working is an absolute no-go, for me at least.

I tried this out after its release, and it portrayed weather gorgeously. My problem with it that prevented me from using it, though, was its terrible FPS. That was a long time ago, and hopefully it's been fixed since then. It was nothing like "early FS9" weather..!

Try a cross country flight.  You don't see weather in the distance and fly into it.  You don't see where you're flying in clear skies and distant cumulus clouds you fly towards them, over them, and then a whole other weather pattern emerges as you fly along.  REX has a blanket of whatever weather it's getting from surrounding metars and it pops in as you fly along.  You notice it distinctly in higher performance jets.
