FBW A320 stutter

The stutters are due to some issues with the ND they are updating. Within their discord you can try out the new V2 ND if you modify one of the links in the installer.

How/where?

I tried doing searches in Discord for any info, and couldnt find anyhting relevant.

If you do try the test version, please report back your findings. Multiple users have been offered this test version and have not given any feedback regarding performance, which is very much needed.

To everyone else - please remember that you are using an aircraft in alpha stage.

To end my comment, I have bought the FENIX a320 and I must say that it is the best thing I have ever done. I can state with complete certainty that the FBW was unfortunately to blame for the stutters. As other pilots in this same thread say, some of us have this problem, and it is something that does not happen to everyone. But the FENIX has given me back my joy since I made an expensive investment in a 4090 to have an exquisite fluidity and with the FBW I was not achieving it. Now I can say that it is the best moment of my Simulator in 25 years.

For those wondering: I'm running FENIX with DX12 (Beta) and TAA with DLSS and it works very, very well. The FENIX is in Quality mode and the rendering is on the GPU.

Would you be willing to try the test version and provide feedback regarding performance?

Hi,

I've configured the installer as per level7's link, and I'm currently testing this version on a 6hr flight (was previously on Experimental version).

First indications were that the performance has improved, enough that I was able to depart from Gaya's LOWW without it being a total stuttering mess (performance still isn't great at LOWW but I believe that is probably a problem with Gaya's airport).

At cruise FPS seem to have improved as well. I'm locked to 30fps on very modest hardware (8700k@5G, 1080Ti) and whilst its not welded to 30fps, the drops below 30fps (2fps) are no where near as great a drop than compared to non-V2 version (anywhere up to 6fps).

For me, ND-V2 has made using FBW320 much more enjoyable so far.

I tried out the test version as outlined above and saw no difference between that and the DEV version in the significant stutters I get only with the FBW A32NX. I have captured some info via CapFrameX and would like to share it on your discord, but do not have permission to post in the #ND channel. I understand that that channel is for developers, of which I am not. Is there another channel you would like me to post that and any other pertinent information?

I'm on the experimental version which is supposed to be more fps friendly.. but then again, i lock my FPS @ 30 and i do have a high spec rig (3090, i9-10900K)..

I dont have any periodic stutters but i do find it laggy when i switch to wing views and back esp when around heavy scenery.. I wish we had a way to disable camera transitions to avoid these unpleasant lags when switching views..

same here, agree 100 precent.

Same conclusion after a short flight, i made a 40min hop from LOWG to LOWW (both payware airports and as stated, LOWW is really heavy on most systems) - but stutters were still there as before (also in flight and at LOWG aiport). One thing i noticed was the missing Airports normally shown on the ND when i click on ARPT on the EFIS...on NDv2 no Airport showed up...I swiched to the NDv2 version from the stable one, which is in my mind the most "fluid" so far...

But anyway, thank you for further developing that great aircraft, really like it a lot and will make some more test flights!

After further evaluation with @JimBrown, their issue is not what this build aims to fix unfortunately. This build is an improvement on constant frametimes, (mostly) not random stutters, which is what I assume you have too.

I'll be looking into the other issue, but for now I have got no lead.

After a lot of testing with two kind and patient users on Discord (who suffered through the dozens of different files I sent them to test), we have potentially isolated a major stutter problem to a particular area of the code.

We are evaluating what we can do to mitigate the issue as it impacts something non-trivial to fix.

Hello, can you please explain how you lock the FPS @30?

Oh man, I really hope what you are working on is the severe stutter I encounter from time to time. (We discussed it on Discord a month or two ago). If you need someone else to help test, feel free to ask.

Thanks,
