Looks like this one is going unnoticed.  Just picketed it up and seeing what it's about.  Overall, I like it.  Prop Torque is a bit strong which I haven't been able to take off without assist on.  Must be something I'm doing wrong.  Review of the manual is in order... :kopi:

Haven't flown this one but if it's like DCS then you'll want 6 degrees of right rudder trim. Also hold the stick aft a bit to engage the tail wheel lock. 3000rpm + steady advance to 61" MP and keep it in a 3 point position until you have plenty of airspeed so when you bring the tail wheel up you'll be able to effectively use the rudders.

Just figured it out.  It's all in the tail wheel lock. No more default assist needed on my end.  Great job by AH on this one (the whole effort).  This is a very nice study level P51.

It always seems that the only thing the P-51 wants to kill more than the enemy is the pilot flying it!

Has anybody flown a real life P51 before? I was wondering how the P51 from the Reno air race pack compares to this AH P-51’s flight model, and how the Reno air pack P51’s flight model also compares to a real life P51.

😂

I think 'compares to a real life RV-3' would be a better fit. Unfortunately the Asobo add-on aircraft are all far too arcade-like.

*Needless to say I have not piloted a P51 in real life. Enough has been written about it, and the odd POV video is around to illustrate the complexity of the real aircraft. In addition flying a tail-dragger is about (literally) feeling the yaw, something that cannot yet be simulated.

Not all. Some stock aircraft and pretty decent. I flew Decathlon, Citabria and T-6, but I'm not P-51 expert either

Not sure about real life and you'll be hard pressed to find someone around here that knows.  But what I can say based on having both, Asobo did a decent job on their models.  I'll go further to say Asobo is modeling racers and if AH is the study level standard here Asobo did a great job.

Old Yellow or Rockwell repaint? Can't imagine this bird without both.
