If you enjoy a lukewarm Bethesda adventure, with writing on the level of really mediocre fan fiction, a game with constant load screens and a space travel section that is just one big glorified fast travel menu, all wrapped in a very inconsistent looking game with some shocking performance compared to how it looks, then it's great.

That settles that then, because I was looking to ask the same question with the intention of buying it.

The amount of "Bethesda can paint a word not allowed gold" hype is disgusting with Starfield.

Folks are just really complacent with mediocre games in 2023 and these devs know it.

The game has ZERO planetary flight ( Even 1994 Wing Commander 3 had planetary flight)

Terrible instanced loading zones/ screens, god awful unnecessary color filters for everything in the game's environmental visuals.

Folks are so hungry for a new Bethesda title they'll literally eat anything at this point for satisfaction.

Too bad Star Citizen developers are too obsessed with milking their microtransaction economy (thousands of dollars for pixel ships) and sandbagging an actual official release.

Don't mind me folks, I've just been around too long and it's hard to ignore the BS.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

This was supposed to be a Day 1 purchase for me. But I'm glad I held off. Will be waiting to see what the mod community is going to do with the game.

It's gonna be one that grows with user mods just like Skyrim did, give it a year or two and it'll be an even better game than it is now.

The ES or FO series core are excellent because they have substance. stories. I play them vanilla and never really felt the need for mods.
