As explained earlier. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas, 80 times more potent than CO2. It might not be such an issue if it wasn't for the feedback loop. Methane increases temperature which releases CO2 from natural sources that last a lot longer then 12 years. 2 hours ago, Bob Scott said: Same goes for the megawatt-hours of juice used to charge "clean" electric cars (notwithstanding the creation of millions of tons of toxic used battery waste). Not quite. Second life batteries for home and grid storage are a big deal now and recycling is now a major initiative in Europe and around the world. Recycled batteries is expected to be a lucrative business by 2040. Currently, recycling can recover up to 96% of a battery dependant on who's doing it. There's also a new Tesla battery recycling process that generates zero waste and can recycle up to 92% of the elements that make up a battery pack. Edited January 27, 20224 yr by martin-w

And after eliminating methane coming from power plants burning natural gas instead of going to nuclear power. Lets do the cookers and all that you said above... simultaneously. 👍 Strip that cooker out Noel! 😁

Its just a report that highlights how it leaks from cookers. Quote What the climate alarmists don't like to discuss is the most potent greenhouse gas of all by far: water vapor, which means steam, clouds, and fog. Oh boy, I guess we'll have to start limiting our water vapor emissions as well. The "climate alarmists" as you put it are well aware of the "water vapour positive feedback loop". But I fear you are not. The CO2 we emit warms the atmosphere and cases greater evaporation. And as you say, water vapour is the most potent greenhouse gas. That water vapour from evaporation in the atmosphere increases temperature further. That further increase in temperature releases locked up CO2 and worse still methane.. Thus the temperature rises even further and creates more evaporation, and thus more water vapour in the atmosphere, and the feedback loop continues. This is why CO2 is the primary temperature regulating gas in the atmosphere. Edited January 27, 20224 yr by martin-w

Sorry, but that is total nonsense. I have done extensive research on this, looked at various data, graphs and statistics from multiple sources, and there has been no increase in extreme weather events over the past 40 years compared to the previous 40 years. I, and I'm sure most reasonable people, agree that we need to move away from fossil fuels and stop polluting our atmosphere, but when climate change advocates use hysteria and hyperbole to make their case, it tends to make people distrust them. By making exaggerated claims and using hyperbole to try and persuade people to come over to their side, the climate alarmists are instead hijacking their own cause. It's a real shame. January 27, 20224 yr I am probably not very green either, I live in a Lockwood Home which is a home build from large heavy tongue and groove wood beams so no drywall or plaster just heavy wood throughout, my house does not have a heater or air conditioner and in the winter we have a wood burning stove that we use for heat, but since New Zealand doesn't get that cold we don't use it too much. We have a large yard so we have cut down our own trees to burn and our neighbour the arborist gives us free wood so we don't even buy wood from the supply chain. Burning wood for heat is probably not very green but our other option is to get an electric heat pump, New Zealand still uses coal to produce its base production of electricity, so to be honest it's either burn free wood, or use electricity produced from coal during peak demand times, I choose to burn free wood Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
