Well, the ones who bought their products prior to them becoming freebies, did still enter into a contract, and to abdicate all responsibility from that (if one could indeed be held to any such requirement for everlasting support) would mean some sort of refund was warranted with regard to any continued support issues, but of course since the things were sold as working for the version they are intended to be used with, that support only pertains to older versions of the host program, so that is really where the support responsibility ends, and it is entirely understandable in the same way as driving a Model T into your local Ford dealership and expecting them to have spares for it would be unreasonable. The point I was making, is that to suggest Aeroplane Heaven is a company which comprises people who are 'not enthusiasts like we' is a somewhat unfair conclusion to draw from what is really an act of philanthropy. Pretty much everyone who ends up working making commercial FS products that I know of, started out as an enthusiastic amateur making freebies, who came to the reality that to continue dedicating enough time to making something with fidelity (since flight simmers always want better and better stuff), and still being able to afford to eat, meant turning it into a job. But that does not mean they stopped being enthusiastic about it. It would be great if sensible financial considerations were not something which impacts the decision to make commercial products, but by definition that cannot be for any commercial product. I could (and indeed did) make vastly more money from previous jobs than I do in my current job with an aviation service agent, but it is my choice to do that because I like working on aeroplanes, so I am enthusiastic about it, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to be paid more! In the end, if people were still buying FSX and P3D products in large volume, FS developers would still be happily making stuff for those sims just as they would still be making stuff for FS98 if that were also true of it. So really it is the collective amount of customers which determine such decisions, the developers are simply going with the flow. I was going to edit my quote to say AH is still obligated to support past purchasers of their P3D products, since those customers paid for the product. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
February 3, 20224 yr A nice thing for those (like me) who never bought their stuff so far. At least they are honest. If you compare, Carenado still takes a lot of money for their planes, and gave no support either^^ Regards, Dominik
February 4, 20224 yr I stopped buying AH aircraft a long time ago due to their consistently poor sounds. A free price sounds about right to me, because now I can justify paying for a 3rd party sound-pack. But nice, they give it away for free. And if someone needs help, one is better off asking for help here or on other forums. I'm glad we have some good platforms for exchange and still people actively using P3D5. Dan I think they are doing a refund offer for purchases in the last 21 days. Look at their Facebook page or the Fselite notice fine print. T45

If you go to the ORBX website store it says "Coming Soon". I guess they're getting the signage and buttons ready, but it hasn't been activated yet. So looks like it will be the 7th. One thing I know for certain is that I'll be looking for a lot of soundpacks soon to replace those awful ones from AH. But hey, getting some nice-looking aircraft for free is pretty generous! I feel obligated now to get one of their MSFS 2020 products, but oh my god I can't stand any of their engine sounds... February 6, 20224 yr I've downloaded a couple of FSX planes via Orbx. It appears the free-ware airplane downloads listed on Orbx are versions 1.0, however documentation provided within the downloads indicates fully upgraded products. Example: Bristol Bulldog documentation indicates version 1.3., 14 June, 2019. Many thanks to Aeroplane Heaven for these wonderful (for me FSX) aircraft. February 9, 20224 yr Mixed feelings about Aeroplane Heaven Aircraft in P3D5 I got the C-140, the Sabreliner and the SB2C for free. The C-140 still has it's problems, going off like a rocket when pressing the engine starter. However, I could start it with Ctrl-E without problems. I think it takes off very soon, like a STOL plane. The pilot goes away after take off. I know, there's a button to hide/unhide him but that doesn't work once airborne. This plane will never be fixed The Sabreliner just threw me out of P3D5. The SB2C works fine but also this takes off very easily, as if not loaded. However, I think it is a very detailed model. I also tried the He-111 which is only compatible with v4. What a beautiful model, but transferring from v4 to v5 does not work. The sim crashed instantly. What a pity, to let such a great model remain in state v4. It will never be updated to v5 I think. That reminds me about the Milviz planes converted now to v5. Before it just crashed, when directing the installer to v5 and then out of nothing the made installers for v5 and it works without that they invested a lot of work in it I think, at least, they gave it for free though I had paid for the upgrade. At least I have Virtavias He-111 which still works on all sims. Conclusion on Aeroplane Heavens Freeware, I'm not angry. I'm happy not having bought these planes. I have bought before the Pucara, the Bulldog and the C-119. I can not really recommend one of them 100% but I'm not unhappy. I modded the Pucara to show a complete cockpit. I like that plane now but it has too much pull when idle, couldn't fix that. It is also a bit difficult to fly but I like the type and it's argentinian provenience. I also made a repaint for it with the latest camo paintscheme (just if somebody is interested). The C-119 works well. I think it feels a little to light. But that's a solid model. The Bulldog a bit underpowered, but that's maybe this type. The model is great but for me, I shouldn't have bought it. I had the Sabreliner crashing too, although v5 compatible. Do you know what's there? P.S. I found, the A2A_Windshield.dll is older on the He-111 than on the C-119.
