Landing the Kodiak at Hamilton Island

As I continue my flight around the east coast of AUS, I cannot continue to be in awe at the stunning scenery. BTW, don't shoot me down if my procedures are incorrect!

Yep!  I think it is universally accepted that MS / Asobo have done very well with this world update.  I really like it.

I took a few flights over Hobart Creek last night (from your previous video), and really enjoyed it.  I flew down the coast from Mackay.

I had CTD's here and there, so I had to keep loading back in, but I have since traced the problem.
It was not MSFS related but due to my new PC build and the memory profile.  My RAM is failing Memtest occasionally - had about 12 Memtest errors in 10 minutes!
I will tweak the RAM profile until it is stable and solid tonight, then I might follow your route down the coast!

To those wanting the detail, I bought 32 GB of 4400 D4 (four sticks), but it won't do the XMP profile, or even the lower 4266.
It seems the manufacturer only guarantee this for the paired kits, so two sticks at a time or just the 16GB of RAM; it simply won't hold it with four sticks / 32GB. 😕
I have taken advice and have a profile with looser settings to try tonight.  I will give it a good few hours on Memtest to prove it is stable before trying again - then back to the gold coast!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Sorry to hear about your issues. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you sort things out soon!

Thanks!  I am absolutely confident I will.  I will go just a bit under the new settings suggested to me just to be sure.
Stability is more important to me, and from my early testing, D4 RAM speeds over 3600 don't seem to add a lot to performance anyway.

I am enjoying your videos by the way.  The scenery is superb, and the Kodiak is really nice to fly isn't it?  Nice and stable but without it being too much on the rails.

what do you use for ATC ? Sounds awesome !

Why don’t you post the flight plans or airport codes with the videos? I’m sure some if not many might want to try the same or similar flights.

If you had waited a few days - Auscene will have a new Hamilton for you to buy - and will be better than the vanilla

you landed at - did you notice - on the way in  - that the huge Marina that Hamilton is famous for  - was all under water

Honestly - in a lot of respects - this Aussie update was a joke - and yesterday - you flew over a 9 year old Gold Coast

Good idea Nismo. I shall have to do that in  future. But for the record, this was just a straightforwad flight from Mackay to Hamilton Island.

Ah, interesting about the Auscene scenery. I will keep my eyes peeled for that one. Thanks for the heads up.

Another vote for airports and routes.  Would love to fly these in the Kodiak!

Suggestion: why not use the visual approach feature of the NXi?

ATC Chatter for MSFS is the perfect companion if you like listening to real voices.

Thanks Jose !
