Or maybe FSX with the DX10 patch and some addons?

I'd expect FS20 to look far better than that shot given that it's probably 15 years away at least. That looks like a console game I remember seeing... Ace Combat Zero maybe?

Presumably the image has been removed from the server to save space. After all, that's the purpose of imposing a size limit in the first place!

It's a screenshot from Ace Combat 6 on the 360. It's a sim lite with more action orientated gameplay. Still on my to get list though, just with I could plug my joystick into my 360 :Dhttp://www.xboxyde.com/news_4131_en.htmlIMO this 3D engine looks very promising for the PCa>I wonder what those shots of the Flight sim are, theres more shots and videos on their site.http://www.windwardmark.net/downloads.php?page=screenshotshttp://www.windwardmark.net/downloads.php?page=videosI still think FSX will come a long way though, it's still in it's infancy and we'll be seeing some really breathtaking stuff in the future I'm sure.

Pictures are NOT from any known flight simulator!

>It looks great. Better lighting & atmosfere then FSX.>Wonderful Heat from the airplane engines. Its for X360 too. If>Microsoft can make so nice software for the 360 why not for>their own flightsimulator?I think you'll find that the playable area in Ace Combat 6 is significantly smaller than in FSX. In FSX, you can literally fly around the world non-stop. While it's easy to pack high-res textures and models into a smallish area, there's no way you could have graphics with the kind of detail in those screenshots in a simulator that allows you to arbitrarily fly between any two points on the globe, at least not on presently available consumer hardware. Not to mention your system also has to keep up with the detailed flight physics and real-time weather simulations, other air traffic in the area, updating the instrument panel, and a bunch of other things. An arcade sim in a restricted area is peanuts compared to that.More simply, this is an apples to oranges comparison.

This isn't true anymore. FSXs graphics engine is very outdated. Its been modified over & over again for over 10 years now. An efficient engine could stream data, graphics etc more smoothly. FSX, FS9, FS8 etc, all have the same clunky loading, pooping, blurring. It really shouldn't be happening on todays hardware. If demand, resources & talent could be found to make a new simulator today, from the ground up, the visual quality would far exceed what you can see in Ace Combat 6(on PCs).Unfortunately, flight simulation isn't a big seller, takes many years to develop & most game industry employees would regard it dull. What we see today in FSX is way behind what is actually possible. The big studios & the best developers are off somewhere else making mainstream games. Its a shame it has to be this way because I'd rather fly a 747 than drive a Ferrari. At least SP1 has made FSX flyable for now. Without that, we'd have nothing.

Ditto all!Marco
