Now I set a climb and the VS varies between 100 fpm and 1500 fpm back and forth without touching anything. I'm done wasting time , the default aircraft are much better that this terrible flying aircraft. Sorry to hear that. I don't seem to have so severe a problem - slight variations certainly, but nothing untoward. Can't really help you, I'm afraid - I love the Arrow. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
February 27, 20224 yr No copter pilots here? I fly mainly the H145 but the freeware H135/R44 are great too. Together with the most underrated Plan-G Flightplanner. Excellent for prepairing your flight with terrestrial navigation. The little freeware addon FlightShare is another neat gem. Very small, very easy to use and you can even use its AP function if you are lazy ..... In 500 Ft/AGL you can discover a lot in MSFS - very fun. Best regards Detlef

Mountain Air is in North Carolina, but it is paved. I think that's the highest airport east of the Rockies, or at least the highest paved airport. After about five or six tries I finally landed on Mountain Air. At first I would lose it when I went out to make my turn to line up with the runway. Went over the end of the runway one time because I couldn't get it to stop. I see they now have it in the Marketplace. Got to get it. Took off from Grand Canyon (KGCN). The problem was I couldn't gain any speed. That's when I discovered what leaning the mixture is all about. I was going about 78 kts with a rich mixture. Once I leaned it out I gained some speed and made a sharp left turn to miss a mountain and got over them. Roy i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive
February 27, 20224 yr I've been flying the Milviz Porter in PNG a lot in the sim, and the Kodiak has become my go-to IFR platform... but I don't guess that turboprop engines and glass count as "simple GA." For that, I'd have to say the DC Designs Stearman (with a 40% extremity dead zone applied to the aileron axis), on any pastoral grass strip. Andrew Crowley

Back in the hangar for good. I just flew the new version, and I was able to trim it out. Seemed better / easier to trim out than before. If I can do it, I know you can. My trim adjustment on my yoke has really fine increments now. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
February 27, 20224 yr I mostly fly the Milviz Porter or the stock Savage Cub (not a fan of the various fantasy mods to the Cub). I will be keen to try the AN2 which if its done right might become my go to until the Beaver gets released I wish someone would develop a Super Cub In stock trim with steam gauges. I agree with the OP that low and slow VFR is what this sim does best.

The Carenado C-170 and default C-152/172 are my favorite "grap to go" airplanes. The SWS Kodiak is my favorite "think before you throttle up" airplane.
February 27, 20224 yr In answer to the opening post's question: I have an old computer (i7, GTX1060, 32 Ram). I can still play well on high and some settings on ultra. I have 2 32" inch monitors. Msfs2020 runs very smoothly on this (about 20 fps) for me. I only fly the (G1000) aircraft (c172, c208, DA62, G36) and only over nature (mountains, coast, landscape etc .). I only fly with msfs2020 (standard) and completely vanilla. No mods, no 3rd party. At the time I was blown off on FSX because there was so much modding to do. I don't like that anymore. Plug and Play is my motto, otherwise I'll give up.. The only gadget I have is a TM Hotas FX and 2 Streamdecks XL's (love them!) The locations are worldwide which I search on the internet (or on this forum).. And this suits me just fine for this game.. I'm a happy simmer...

Back in the hangar for good. @Bobsk8 Keep that hangar door ajar! 😉 Some suggestions: I use a Logitech X56 Pro HOTAS. I found that there's a big difference in how sensitive the trim is depending on which button or switch I map to. When I map the trim to the top left hat switch on the stick it is super sensitive - good for large adjustments. When I map trim the trim to one of the rotary buttons below the display on the throttle it is much less sensitive... so I use that button perfectly as a trim wheel. With that setup I find it super easy to trim the Arrows... and any other GA I have flown in the sim. And clearly the 'fault' is with my X52 and the different sensitivity of the buttons rather than the Arrow 🙂 There is also the recently released "Authentikit Tuning App for Trim Wheel Sensitivity and More". Available on flightsim.to and it looks amazing in terms of setting up and managing mapping of trim functionality. Have not tried it myself though. Good luck!
