I held off an AIG install for months because so many said it was difficult. I installed AIG while watching an install video on YouTube - it went smoothly with no problems at all. It does take a while to install liveries and flightplans, but after doing it once its simple and quick to update. The look of the aircraft and the accuracy of the traffic (especially with PSXT & RealTraffic) more than makes up for the install process. I thought exactly the same as you so held off installing AIG for ages. Glad I bit the bullet and installed, because the realism AIG brings is second to none. Follow an install video on YouTube for the initial install. From then on the maintenance is easy. In the first video below, watch the full take off and departure of the Atlas B747 as it flies over the inbounds to KJFK and then decide if the install is worth the effort (last departure) 🙂 Edited February 28, 20224 yr by MrBitstFlyer CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090 Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440 Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD External Storage Three 4Tb HDs
March 1, 20224 yr For the OP who might just be slightly confused by the team colour nature of the responses, you will have recognised two key elements in the posts so far. Simple Traffic is easy to install but has default models. AIG, is more complicated to install, (some say poorly designed) but it has a range of well modelled aircraft. Both softwares offer a range of worldwide liveries. So far as IT literacy is concerned, it is my observation from using MS Flight Simulators for a number of years, that if one confines oneself to only simple installation software for your add-ons, then you may be limiting your ability to get the best out of MSFS with all the various free add-ons you can acquire for the software. Sometimes, 'pointing' a piece of software to a specific directory is required since many simmers have very different setups and freeware modellers and developers often use simple methods of development that are a bit 'bare bones' when it comes to installations. The instructions with AIG are very good and setup is not as complicated or as difficult as suggested by some but I do understand if you feel all this is beyond you. In that case Simple Traffic will be ideal. It also comes down to what you want from your AI traffic. I am not a Simple Traffic user, but for some who are more than satisfied with Simple Traffic, it can only be assumed that seeing an accurate rendition of the AI model is not really too important. Rather more important is seeing a fair representation of airline liveries at the airports you visit so that the airport doesn't look like an empty carpark!! But for those who prefer detail in the AI models, it should be noted that the default MSFS models, on which Simple Traffic places its liveries, have been roundly slammed both because of their generic (all look the same) nature and also their unrealistically pointed noses. So if you like watching an A380 coming into land the AIG model will make you feel like you are there, whereas except for the double deck, you might not really be sure what you are looking at in Simple Traffic. So, whatever your mileage is, or depending on what you are prepared to pay for (noting Simple Traffic is not freeware), and what degree of simplicity you seek, either of these two softwares offer alternative solutions to providing AI Traffic to the simulator. Finally, to use a farm yard analogy, AIG users prefer to know if they looking at a pig, a boar, a sheep or a goat. Simple Traffic users accept that so long as there are some farm animals in sight, all is good. So if that's the level you seek, then coupled with its easy installation Simple Traffic is your best option. But if you want to do a bit of plane spotting on the end of the runway, then realism will be enhanced by using AIG. There are plenty of people here using it and many who will be more than happy to help guide you through the install. March 1, 20224 yr Author Thanks for all the replies everyone. I was wondering what AIG is, and how difficult it is to install?

March 1, 20224 yr I have AIG (scared to update it though), but I am still on the lookout for this: fsltl CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
March 1, 20224 yr I'm going to be the sacrificial lamb and ask, rather bluntly, what many novice simmers first think when they hear about AIG's installation process: What's the reason they never just made a standard user-friendly installer? Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
March 1, 20224 yr Come on guys. That video is one of the worst video's I have seen on anything frankly. Apart from it being mostly out of focus, I couldn't make any sense of it all and I have installed AIG Manager and AIG Traffic Controller twice without any issues just using the installed manuals in the zipped files. It seems some here are going out there way to make things really difficult for new users which is a real shame. If the OP believes there is any benefit in taking a bit of extra effort to get nicely rendered AI models then here is a much simpler way. Just go to https://www.alpha-india.net/. Under 'Software', select the AIG - Manager and the AIG Traffic controller and download these two small programmes. Do this one at a time of course. Once they are both downloaded, place the zips in their own folders and then extract them there. In each of these extracted files is a tutorial to set up the programmes. There are some steps to take but they are well written and not onerous and some of it is for advanced users anyway and so can be ignored. Done. But as I said before if the OP does not have the basic IT literacy to do this (and not everyone does) then really, Simple Traffic is the only way to go. Maybe later when they build more skills in this area they can make the switch if they see any benefit in doing so. But my main concern here is that people's bias toward an easy to install piece of software, and the use of poorly executed video tutorials to 'fear' people away from other options does not allow new users to properly evaluate the benefits of other softwares or their ability to download and install them. As competent users of the software and as repliers to the OP's questions, we all need to provide more balanced responses in the interests of encouraging new users, not discouraging them. March 1, 20224 yr Author Hello again, I just purchased Aerosoft Simple Traffic, but I can't get it to download and even turned off Windows security and still no luck. What can I do to solve this problem It's very frustrating right now. Thanks
