Any fix found for the ground hatch issue yet?

Featured Replies

I've seen threads about this on the MSFS forums but no indication that Asobo recognizes it as an issue and those who've also experienced it haven't yet offered a fix that works for me. One guy said he got them to go away but changing my driver settings to default didn't work for me. It's even worse in the snow

Sorry, but what exactly is the ground hatch issue?

Edit:  is that the checkerboard marks on parking areas?   I only see them using replacement textures or custom airport textures.  Never seen a fix - but I'm sure it has been raised at dev forums.

Nah it's base game. That's Orbx Orcas airport just an example I had quick on hand but I already tried it with an empty Community folder and got the same results at a stock airport

Also it affects all aprons & runways - you can see the lines on the runway in the image above as well

Finally someone who shares my frustrations with these white squares showing up at certain heights on all airports. I used to blame replacement textures but they have nothing to do with this phenomenon.

If you use the drone and start going up you will see that at certain heights a grid-like pattern starts to appear over the airport textures in all airports around the world.

This started happening after SU5.

Below are some examples (all screenshots taken with default airport textures)

I really hope Asobo fixes these horrible squares as they are such an immersion killer.

I'm pretty sure everyone has this bug but few users have noticed it as they appear at certain heights and angles

can confirm

If not already, suggest that you create a Zendesk ticket with the screenshots.

I do remember seeing this, but I only saw it ever happen at third party airports. That said, there's some bias here because I hardly ever visit default airports unless they are the enhanced versions by Asobo.

But, it's still worth to ask: do you see this happening at default, non-enhanced airports at all? Because that's what I would consider 'base game'. A third party airport, even using default textures, I would not consider 'base game'.

It's not the fault of any add ons and it may not even be the fault of MSFS. My card series of 2000 just may be messed up in handling anisotropic filtering properly for some reason. Could be a driver thing. Def not an add on tho

It's very faint, you can see a white seam where the gray runway textures fit together. It's probably a texture that wasn't cleaned up properly.

Asobo is controlling the vertical and horizontal seams...
