I just checked. So yes, you'll have to be patient.

I am patient. I haven't even purchased KRNT yet and was answering your question. 😕

There's no problem. You won't be disappointed. It's a stunning addon...the best of all! 🙂

if anyone's interested, the airport just went up on orbx.

Ok I've tested it, and framerate certainly isn't fantastic on my system (RTX 3070, Ryzen 9 3900x, 32 GB RAM at 1440p resolution and ultra detail). To compare, FlyTampa's Toronto run consistently at 55 FPS on the same system.

But to be honest, with this crazy level of detail, what can we expect?

More than an airport, I consider this a big toy and an absolutely stunning Boeing-themed diorama. So if you are a Boeing fan and want a big toy to play with and an absolutely stunning diorama, then this is definitely worth the purchase.

On the other hand, if you're buying it for Renton Municipal Airport on its own and you're not going to spend considerable time panning the camera around with your jaw dropped, its value becomes iffy.

I love Drzewiecki Design's airports, and I definitely think their usual level of detail is awesome, some of the best in the business, but I do think this should be considered more as a proof of concept of what they can do than a a practical example of an airport haha.

It'd be nice if they could make an option without the animations, the hangar doors closed, and the interiors gutted for when one simply wants to fly.

As a personal aside, and I wouldn't be surprised or offended if 'm alone in this, I'm not a giant fan of the PMDG product placement. Yes. I understand paying homage to the most popular and established Boeing developer in the industry, and I'm a big PMDG fan like the next dude, but this is very much in your face straight on the main taxiway, which I consider it a bit gaudy for an Easter Egg.

It's very visible, with signs, flags, PMDG's fictional livery in plain sight and whatnot. When I purchase an airport, I require realism, and having lots of branding for a company that isn't actually there slapped in a very visible location at said airport, isn't exactly to my taste. Admittedly, the first 5 minutes I've seen it, I was like "Oh cool," but the novelty has worn off fast.

I can fully understand when Orbx reproduces their own offices at Essendon airport. That's because these are actually their offices.  It may be self-referential, but it's also realistic. Here, it's a lot more iffy in my view. The customer's paying for Renton Airport, and I'm not sure a PMDG ad fits that angle.

Mind you, this isn't a massive complaint or a dealbreaker, but just something that bothers me a little bit and I hope won't become a trend. if it was just an Easter Egg tucked away where you have to find it, I'd be all for it, but right in the middle of the airport in plain sight of the runway, you can't not see it.

another fine example of user deception: time lapse video to suggest higher fps/fluidity than there actually is, as can be seen by the hectic movement of trees etc. semper idem.

You mean Boeing doesn't assemble a 737MAX in fourteen seconds IRL?  😯

they will have to do it in under 7 seconds to be competitive.

You mean 7 months right?  Or 7 days for final assembly?

Not sure why you are showing Deliveries vs Assembly or even Final Assembly which for the -Max is 9-11 days... Also not sure how any of those numbers produce a plane every 7 seconds LOL.

It does explain why DD didn't create an 11 day preview video of the final assembly though.... It must be that darn time lapse deceiving me I tell ya...

Can anyone help? I am having difficulty getting the static planes to appear at Renton, currently it is blank.

Originally when i downloaded the product and used the installer I checked the box for removing them, thinking they may be parking spaces that I need for AIG, but having realised they were scenery for the factory I did what the installer said and reinstalled without checking the box to reset the scenery to default. Dumb moment I know.

That has not worked. I've also deleted the scenery from Community and tried a reinstall from fresh. I've also deleted the installer and redownloaded from Just flight and started fresh. Nothing has worked so far.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers Ant

I find it laughable that a member would complain about PMDG being featured or promoted in this scenery.

I'm well aware of PMDG and I don't need to be reminded of how great their aircraft are, but this I embrace and don't look at it as advertising.

I'm just wired differently.

I simply looked at it as a collaboration. In this hobby, collaborations lead to advances and improvements either directly or indirectly.

you probably meant "product placement" or did DD help in any way with the PMDG 737 design? if they had Boeing logos or company livery ok fine nobody would mind that, but do we need to be reminded of RSR from now on at every DD airport?

Maybe DD is also just a PMDG fan and excited to see the 737 released for MSFS as many of us are.  I really don't see an issue placing a livery on one of the static modelled birds that gives a nod to the Virtual PMDG Max and it's development at the Boeing plant they are produced in real life.  There is a very clear correlation here, it's not random...

The fact you see RSR when you see it is your own personal issue and they obviously did it at Renton because that's where the 737 is produced so no, I doubt you will see it at every DD airport especially with static models disabled.  I actually thought @Alaska738 was on the test team and slipped in a screenshot for us but thought it was pretty cool when he explained it's part of the scenery.   I'm sure it was cleared with PMDG first as well.

I think it's a nice touch to give a nod to the virtual developers.  Well played DD.

DD is producing upcoming videos for the PMDG 737, so there is a clear connection between the two developers. It's just a nice nod to an exciting forthcoming airplane.

BINGO - spot on with the collaboration!
