May 21, 200719 yr E6600 on a MSI P965 Platinum, 2 Gb RAM, 8800GTX, X-Fi XtremeGamer and a Track IR 4 Pro. Vista Home Premium. Still fresh. All this stuff was mainly bought for FS X. And what does FS X (SP1) give after less than ten minutes of flying above beautiful (IRL anyway) Norway...?This:http://i16.tinypic.com/5xzum92.jpgLow res textures, blurries, even the autogen refuses to popup anymore. (And I'm not even talking about the sand...) Need I say more?BTW I'm not angry, I'm sad.

May 21, 200719 yr Which airport did you take off from and what heading did you fly for 10 minutes to?
May 21, 200719 yr Bergen, Norway, towards Bomoen. (Heading 61, if I remember well.)I already posted about fps getting low above the mountains near Bergen, but at that moment there were still trees and stuff. But now I decided to fly on a bit longer, well... I wonder what I'll see after 20 minutes of flying...
May 21, 200719 yr It does look a lot alike to what I'm seeing here... I guess this is the great Scandinavian desert from the 22nd century ;)
May 21, 200719 yr I dont know where this is, I just picked someplace that has mountains and water...i can easily hold 22 locked here...our settings might vary, but it looks pretty darn good to mehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172102.jpg | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 21, 200719 yr Oh, there's definitely scenery like that in the area - it's just that as you fly from Flesland to Bomoen you enter a huge expanse of sand mountains (should be rocks, but I guess the texture is just plain wrong).
May 21, 200719 yr I suspect that on some PCs a hard to trace regression bug in SP1 effectively prevents the terrain threads from doing their work. Some unlucky users get the blurries (and worse), others don't.If it's not a configuration issue - what is it then? A CPUID check? Works best on Intel ... doesn't work on the rest ;)(EDIT: I bet my n*ts that we will see a hotfix for this issue from Microsoft for this within the next three months, similar to the phototerrain patch for the RTM version).
May 21, 200719 yr >I dont know where this is, I just picked someplace that has>mountains and water...i can easily hold 22 locked here...I can get pretty nice results above cities (20-30) but above mountains with trees fps drops to 10-15. And I don't even have water at 2x like Ryan does.About the sand in Norway: this might indeed be one of those places where the textures are wrong (and how wrong they are...!), but that's not the real point: everything is blurry and empty so fps should be rocketing skyhigh! And not 12! Not with my system.I've spend hours and hours tweaking my system and FS X during short flights: it is very frustrating to get this on my first longer flight... I really don't understand why FS X needs so much tweaking. No other game does. Yes, all computer are different, but why do so many games run on all of them without similar weird problems?
May 21, 200719 yr "(EDIT: I bet my n*ts that we will see a hotfix for this issue from Microsoft for this within the next three months, similar to the phototerrain patch for the RTM version)." Better hold onto them tightly. I'm betting the chances for a hotfix (or even a coldfix) are just about nil. May 21, 200719 yr If FSX was my wife she'd cost me too much to keep her happy, never do as she's told, would be no fun and I'd probably land up divorcing her!Seriously, the silence from Aces speaks volumes...... I don't buy that they are all sitting on a beach! And even if they were - they'd probably have wireless internet ;) Bet they are working out how the #### to get out of this pickle! Someone on the inside must have knowledge ??? I wonder how the FSX saga will effect future developments of MSFS???
