Wing42 Boeing 247D released!

True, but then I do not "need" another account with another developer either, ha ! Already have an account with simmarket, and a few others...

If anyone else is also getting the "product does not follow MSFS2020 sdk guidelines" message via the simmarket app, keep trying and hit that "download" button real hard, as if your life depended on it. It is nothing more than a download fail, poorly worded somehow.

It eventually worked, and the install was a breeze !

Cheers,

Bought it and took the United example from KBFI up to KPAE....I love it!

It’s old but looks nice and flies nicely too...and I was able to land it without careening side to side on the runway like with many or most taildraggers (or indeed some piston singles from popular manufacturers).

A good purchase especially at the price but I also wish it had an autopilot option.

A silly and sacrilegious and lazy question after all of the immersion and saved states and realism the developer built into this plane, but is there a checkbox that allows one to hit Ctrl E and just fly?

After my first flight I fear I only kept it running by luck and it saves the plane as I left it..the level of realism here is very A2A like.

If not, it looks like I need to master the procedures 🙂

I had no idea how detailed and realistically simulated the ancient systems are in this bird.

I bought it but haven't tried it yet. Lack of autopilot is bummer thought. I would settle to AI pilot option which could hold altitude and course 😞

And all this time I swore I'd never buy one of these newfangled "study-level" airliners.  I feel I've been hoodwinked!  😁

But she is very, very cool.  Took 'er for a quick ride around the pattern after spending some time learning how to get her fired up.  Man that right engine was COLD and just didn't wanna catch!  Came back to find a partner next to the parking spot I started out from...

This will be very cool in NeoFly, which prices this old gal out betweent about $440,000 - $540,000.  That's the same or less than a Cessna 414AW and carries 2 or 3 more bodies.  Such a deal!  I will probably "buy" one when I get to Cuba from where I am in Jamaica right now.  It'll be cool, and somehow fitting, to tour around that country in a nice old well-cared for relic.  Meanwhile, familiarity flights at KSBA:

No it's called you haven't flown single pilot IFR leg longer than two hours IRL

No, but maybe you missed a classic movie. 😉 It's an "Otto Pilot" mod you can add to any aircraft!   https://flightsim.to/file/29606/otto-pilot-avatar

Be forewarned he doesn't really fly the plane,.  I was just making a joke.  But I'm wondering if the "pilot assist" options might work in this?

I'm betatester since over a decade now for A2A and have to admit that system wise, it is 100% on par with them!

Have a question about carb heat - check list info is that carb heat should be always above 100F.

To reach and keep 100F in cruise i had to put carb heat levers in full hot position, which is not normal for cruise flight with outside temp 70F. In general radial engines do not fly with carb heat always on.

Any thoughts about that?

So guys I'd rather disappointed.  Looks like a great attempt to implement high fidelity realism but not great implementation of user system .

I was able to start both engines fairly easily but after few minutes or so they both died with absolutely no indication what was wrong. So I decided to restart flight and try again. Oddly enough all switches remained as I left it. I couldn't find any way to reset everything to cold and dark. My only guess whatever damage was done is still affecting aircraft even after  multiple attempt to restart. Because consequent  attempt to start  engines following same procedures were unsuccessful. It's really hard to guess what exactly went wrong?

I wish developer should have had system that inform user what damage was done engine flooded? Oil temperature exceeded? Cylinder pop through cowling? Also It would be great to have an explicit  way to reset all damage, and option reset switches as well.
