April 4, 20224 yr This thing is super nice, you can tell it's a labor of love. Very impressed. Well worth the price.👍
April 4, 20224 yr Has anyone encountered an issue with the oil temperature staying the same as ambient. I sat in the chocks with the coolers closed at takeoff power for 5 mins and none of my temps increased more than a few degrees. Tried a fresh install too. Anyone have any idea whats going on?
April 4, 20224 yr btw did anybody try it out with the SU9 beta yet? It looks its working mostly but having some strange sound issues looks like. Cheers T.
April 4, 20224 yr Hey, got the Boeing 247 yesterday. On the one hand it's a great experience, but I also have some issues. Hope some of you could give me some hints: - I completely failed to start the engines. Read the manual, watched a youtube video, still every time I press "mesh flyweel" the build up inertia disappears, engine coughs once and thats it. Any guesses what I might be missing? And in case someone wonders Ctrl+E works 😛 -Are there any checklists, in our out of the sim? I know they werent really a thing in the 30s but would be helpfull. -I find the clickspot for the clipboard pretty awkward, doesnt re-/disappear half the time when I want it to. Cheers Edited April 4, 20224 yr by Sailor512
April 4, 20224 yr Am i wrong or both cylinder temps and oil temps are way too low - for example cyl temps are less than 200F in flight which is only around 80C, and normal temp for cylinders should be around 200C, oil temps are also extremely low Artur

Actually I'm speaking about the primer knob, not the pump arm. And yes, the tank and carb valves were open. Cheers Starting the engine takes a bit of work: I am not going to repeat the manual but I found that I always need to prime the engine, even if it just has been shut off. Unfortunately the levers/knob you need for priming the engine are behind the clipboard you also need to have opened so I need to close the clipboard, then prime the engine and then open the clipboard again to continue the process. April 4, 20224 yr Can you tell us which mouse gesture is working on your side for priming? I tried in legacy or Lock mode without success. April 4, 20224 yr The primer is wonky...I haven't found a consistant motion to pull it reliably, I have to just "hold my mouth right" to get it to work. If you use head tracking or VR you can look around the clipboard, or use instrument views to get to the panel. Hopefully this and the state saving issue will be handled in a timely fashion. Otmar is top notch so I am sure any issues will be addressed...it is a very small company though so it might be a few days.

April 4, 20224 yr This aircraft will almost be second nature for anyone who has owned a slightly finicky, questionably-maintained carbureted vehicle in the past (pre-1980's or thereabouts). If you've ever used a pair of vice-grips as a shifter knob, you know what I mean. My old '66 Mustang with a Carter 4-barrel carb and non-functional choke, an Isky race cam and a blown rear cam seal that dribbled oil down the bellhousing and onto the headers was hard to start, cold blooded, ate gas and always had me pouring in another quart of Valvoline every day (I.e.., at least every tank of gas) which would slowly go up in smoke the same way you see the smoke coming out of the exhaust while warming up the engines on this bird. The heater core served double duty as a second, smaller radiator whenever temps were a concern, which was pretty much any day above 40 degrees F. But she ran strong and always got me where I needed to get to, more or less. So far the experience with this bird is oddly the same and just as fun.
