May 8, 20224 yr I have sharpen = 1 in user.cfg. Some say this produces a “grainy” look. I haven’t that experience. Textures look impressively crisp and clear in 4K. Yet others turn it off in the config file and use nVidia sharpening instead. Film grain I’ve tried both on and off… don’t think I can tell the difference. Some have said that the shimmering of trees is reduced with film grain on… 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Allow means Negative LOD is in effect, while clamp turns it off. The setting is set to allow by default but clamp is the best if you are going to use any AF method. Thank you for the explanation!

But on the ground looking at the tarmac and buildings I can see that they look less sharp and more soft. May 8, 20224 yr I followed this instruction step by step, and the only difference I could see was a change in color do to the color grading setting, but not a single increase in fps or averal smoothness, to me this is just snake oil. May 9, 20224 yr I get smooth performance...now what I do notice however is when I change views there is a super micro stutter at first then its smooth until I change views again from like wing view to cockpit. Then a micro stutter and after that smooth performance...anyone know what's that about? I lock my frames to 30 in FS2020 not in Nvidia CP. May 10, 20224 yr I recently purchased MSFS 2020, and installed SU 9 and numerous World Updates. I noted Captain Piet’s video on removing the HUD gauges from the external view, as I find those gauges irritating. However, in following the procedure in the video, I found that I do not have an Instruments Heads Up Display item within my Cameras/ Chase Plane menu. So, I don’t seem to have the means to remove the HUD gauges. Did something change with SU 9, or do I have a corrupt menu system?
