Mandatory add-ons for MSFS

AIG works in MSFS as well. As a matter of fact, I install all the AIG planes but then use MSFS's built-in Live Traffic. This allows me to enjoy the nice models of AIG but not have to deal with the AIG Traffic Controller.

Hi Benjamin , whats the benefit of this ? Besides the "Live" is it also better performance wise ?

Pretty smart to have the AIG liveries installed this way btw.

Thanks

As far as I'm aware, there are no mandatory add-ons for MSFS. Highly recommended ones, certainly, but still optional.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Maybe we need to add fsrealustic pro v2 to the list of important add-ons since those effects are missing even from the best airliners?

MSFS

I would trade a bunch of addons for one good tree modifier that goes into community file and doesn't change any official files. The official files let you change the range of heights for each species of tree (minimum height to maximum). A good tweaker would have lots of sliders. But you would not be able to see the change on the fly in the sim until a reboot, so some sort of preview needs to be in the app to see what the changes do to rows of trees along city streets.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Here are the addons that never leave my harddrive:

1. FS Realistic
2. Aerosoft Simple Traffic
3. REX Weather Force
4. REX Textures for MSFS 2020
5. REX Accuseason
6. Navigraph - with ingame charts
7. Ambitious Pilots - Toolbar Pushback
8. No Handlebar Mod
9. Hendrik Nielsen's ship traffic mod
10. Latin VFR Arex Europe
11. Latin VFR Arex Middle East
12. Latin VFR Ground Vehicle Traffic

All the above have - on overall medium settings - no to low impact on framerates

It is really interesting how interests can differ. I tried and uninstalled almost all the addons in your list. The only addon I continue to use is Navigraph 🙂
