Can also be little airstrips, not always big ones. You also get the latest AIRAC with every World Update. That's propably not often enough for online airliner flying, but sufficient for most other uses, I think. Other things that usually get added: a number of missing airports get added as autogen and some airport data of a region is corrected and better AI buildings for that area. Apart from the 'shiny' things like POIs and Photogrammetry cities, these World Updates are providing a lot of useful content. For most airports there are high quality payware (or maybe even freeware) replacements I had for XP11 and it made a huge difference. For MSFS it did nothing for my beloved Carenado Mooney Bravo. You can try it and see if you like it. The premium comes with a bunch of extra planes & airports so it's worth the additional cost. MSFS

Although I'm not bothered about the extra airports, without the Premium Deluxe, you will miss out of the C172 analogue (which IMHO is better than the G1000, especially with the excellent KAP140 mod), and also the Cirrus SR22, which started out with awful flight dynamics but has been improved by Asobo over time and is now an excellent SR22 G1000 platform (if not a little basic in areas like no opening doors, etc). If you like LSA aircraft the Pipistrel Virus is also excellent and only comes with the premium version. I've listed some addons which I would define as a must have in order to get the experience in MSFS as well. FSRealistic - reminds me of Accufeel back in P3D days but was less suitable for big jets. Is this recommended for MSFS? Simsounds - for cabin announcements Simple Traffic - until we get a proper AI tool (which is soon to be released by Justflight so I may want to wait) Rex weather force - mandatory? I'll be purchasing Active Sky once released Last question - standard vs. premium assuming I'm only looking for airports, I've noticed most airports missing in the premium were / are being developed by 3PDs so I tend to go with the standard. Any other add-ons you recommed? What do you say? The beauty of MFS is it's very nice without spending a ton on addons, it's great out of the box. I would not describe any of the above as even recommended, forget mandatory; I've been happily using MFS since release and I have precisely none of those addons. The only addons I would consider almost essential are Handlebar Remover and Toolbar Pushback, both free from flightsim.to, and the G1000 NXI free from the in-game marketplace. Scenery wise i have WeLoveVFR Region 1 & 2, and Powerlines and Solar Farms. Again both free from Flightsim.to. These are not "mandatory" they are nice to have if flying VFR. Then I have some free sceneries of my local small airfields. Aircraft wise there are some free realism or improvement mods for the G36 Bonanza and C208B Grand Caravan, plus for jets Working Title's Citation CJ4 and FBW A32X that are also nice to have if you operate those types. if you want airliners, quite a few nice ones in the payware market now. People seem to love overcomplicating things, it's like an addiction after P3D that people need to wean themselves off; I'm glad I don't need a bazillion addons to make MFS acceptable! Everyone raves about Addons Linker and I'm sure it's wonderful but when I only have about 10 mods in the community folder, I really don't need it. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I have painless Asobo SimUpdates too... May 25, 20224 yr None of these I would consider mandatory yet I still consider them to be pretty much essential for my enjoyment Pilot2ATC: the best offline ATC available IMO. Bijan's 4 Seasons: it is not just about the seasons, but also about the placement of correct tree species. Global AI Ship Traffic MSFS V2: ships. We Love VFR: because we do. Powerlines and Solar Farms: to make the scenery even more realistic. NoHandleBar: essential. WT G1000: mandatory if you fly with G1000. PMS 430/530 mod: mandatory if you fly with GNS 430/530. Navigraph: if you fly IFR. Lorby Axis and Ohs: if you like pushing real buttons more than clicking a mouse. It is amazing what this software is capable of. This allows me to enjoy the nice models of AIG but not have to deal with the AIG Traffic Controller. How do you do that? Seems interesting, even if we have to go back to BGL flightplans. Yes, after buying Fenix, BAe 146 and Concorde (and fixing my simrate issues with the FBWA320 and the CTD issues with AIG), I want now to give MSFS some love. Just torn on life traffic and you should start to see MSFS automatically try to match the live traffic with the correct model, with some limitations. Overall nice for an out of the box solution, though. When you download the airline packages though AIG AI Manager, it will automatically download all the models and liveries that are required to fly the flights that are part of that airline pack. From there you can use the Traffic Controller to actually show those flights, utilizing the flightplans that are part of the package, OR you can simply run MSFS live traffic and it will try to match the models that are part of AIG packages with the live traffic. Regardless, you need to install the airlines though manager, and it will do all the work for you. You don’t just ‘download models’ manually (and thank god for that, it would have been a hellish job!)
