PMDG Display Pop-Ups Causing Huge FPS Drop

Featured Replies

I popped out my PFD & MFD dispalys in the PMDG 737 and I had a huge drop in FPS. I am currently using a locked FPS of 30 using the NCP and it is usually very smooth. When I R-ALT and click on the displays my FPS dropped from 30 to 10. When I closed the pop-ups my FPS went back to the normal 30 (very smooth). Anyone else?

I wonder if this is due to the Aerosoft suggested "workaround" way PMDG is doing the pop-outs currently... as opposed to whatever native best-practice way of doing pop-outs whenever Asobo gets around to supporting it in the WASM path.

Asobo issue.

Source?  Others manage without FPS loss including Aerosoft.

Also the PMDG “workaround” is a fail because they stop updating once they leave the VC, which makes them pretty much useless right now for cockpit builders and others who need and use pop outs.

because it's a well know issue that has been reported for months, There was an attempt to get the issue fix in previous SU. It's literally in the patch note. During the last Q&A, they also admitted it wasn't 100% fix.

Not trying to be combative but whose patch notes, Asobo or PMDG. From what I’ve read this is a limitation for planes that are using C++ gages, but not HTML. C++ was a programming decision made by PMDG, NOT Asobo

Asobo SimUpdate patch notes.

Heres' the forum threads for it https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/bug-logged-performance-decrease-when-using-pop-out-panels/301632

Are you dragging the pop-up windows to another monitor? If so, then you'll suffer a slidefest. Hopefully Asobo's forthcoming multi-monitor support will correct this problem.

Move your pop out to a second screen and have the second screen run by your on-board video (integrated video).

It helped me a lot with frame rates (you need to make sure that your on-board video is enabled in the bios).

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

I do not have any FPS drop, even with all displays poped out.

But, the freeze of the displays when not in VC is to bad.

Also, not be able to resize and move the displays around without the windows border is also to bad.

Hope this issues will be fixed some day by ASOBO.

In this respects, the PD3 was so much better.

Nope, I just resized them and moved them around in the VC (same monitor).

I draging the pop ups inside a window and move it to my second monitor with no FPS Drops, and this works very well, only the anoying not updating from the outside view is there, still hoping for a fast update from PMDG for this issue..

This also works by the Aerosoft CRJ just well

but there it works with the outside view.

cheers 😉

Try connect your other monitor to the onboard GPU if you have one.

This is / was allways allready an issue also in Prepar3d.
