Exactly. They are far from finished implementing DX12, even with SU10.

Yeah the weekly updates say Direct X 12 improvements will be on going past SU10.

This is the funny thing to me:  already have liquid smoothness--but I'm fine w/ solid 30fps and can hardly tell the difference compared to 60fps in this nor P3D back in the day.  I'm happy to see the potential for accessing more VRAM and multithreading even if one isn't after greater FPS that means there is potential to accommodate greater graphical quality if that comes--I hope it does, especially cloud quality rendering.  Thanks for your comments and no worries on the test I don't think it will show anything material anyway.  Here's a comparison I did a while back demonstrating unlocked versus vsync to 30:  while you get greater frame rates, you increase GPU utilization and double CPU use just to get 11 more frames over 30, and VRAM utilization was the same:

This is at Orbx 3W5 Concrete Muni, SWS Kodiak cockpit view just after loading the flight. All graphics settings ultra, terrain LOD 200, 4K, HDR, DX12, DLSS quality.

There's some significant differences, in particular GPU usage 38% => 61%. Although in my system GPU temp only changes from 47 to 51.

VRAM usage only increased slightly, whilst CPU usage is pretty much the same.

Thanks for that--largely parallels what I posted on this--very little change in VRAM use, predicted increase in GPU and CPU usage.

Don't know why I said that VRAM usage increased slightly, while in fact it decreased slightly, going from locked to unlocked.

Has anyone luck getting on VATSIM with the SU10 Beta? I can communicate with ATC, but they cannot see me on the airport.

I have no problem on Vatsim with SU10 Beta and Vpilot client. I'm not sure what your problem may be...

Hm, strange. Maybe I should try at another airport. Can some in-sim setting prevent me from being seen?

EDIT: It is the Observer mode it appears...

What about image quality and especially sharpness, with DLSS?  I've got a good GPU so IQ is top priority and I really don't like overly soft edges of objects.

Especially when it makes the instrument panel hard to read.

Well, probably not too relevant anyway ;o)

For those who have tested the SU10 beta:

Has the behavior of the planes during the take-off run really improved? I'm asking because I remember reading that this was on the SU10's list of improvements, but I saw some videos on youtube and it seems that the planes are still behaving like a boat in the storm with 10kt winds.

It's not possible that 2 years after the release they still haven't fixed this aberration.

Opted out of the beta because of bad performance, reinstalled even the sim, but it is now still worse than before installing the latest SU10beta 😞 (though better than with the latest beta). It seems the beta installs something permanent (a setting, a file?) that stays even after deinstalling and reinstalling.

They still change course on the rudder in a split second, like they have no weight or momentum.   I hate that part as it seems so unnatural.

It probably reset your settings, you should check those. Secret files installed somewhere don't sound too convincing 😉

Agree on this.

Last beta gave me a more unsharp terrain and multiple settings were set to low and both LOD settings to 25 ….

I think I had all settings back to what they were, as indeed reinstall did change things, but so far no reasonable results. Will look into it further.
