Doesn’t seem to make any difference.

You have to wait a moment or two...  It redirects flow of the hot air I believe - but it doesn't happen the moment you flip the switch.  Might even be 30 seconds or something.  I haven't flown it in a while either (mostly using the C414) - but rarely get any time to fly.

They are both simulations of the same real plane.

One more thing to say. I downloaded the manual for it and I find no checklist in it.

If your serious about flying an aircraft according to real procedures you download the POH for the real aircraft.   Sim manuals are generally quick start guides for someone wanting a "quick and easy" jump in and fly guide. Many aircraft do not even have one.  None of the default aircraft do.

Here is a link to a POH  in case you do not already have one:

http://www.redcliffeaeroclub.com.au/files/aircraft/Kodiak100_POH.pdf

To be honest it sounds like your previous bad experiences with simulated Kodiaks have left you jaded.  It is almost certain that with such a negative outlook you are guaranteed to find something in this aircraft that triggers you and has you demanding a refund.

I seriously suggest you DO NOT buy the Kodiak as you will likely not be happy no matter how it flies.

For everyone else - the Kodiak has been voted number one on the unofficial "Top 5 Aircraft" thread on the Microsoft forums for months. At $20 it is a bargain, just get it.

Just tested it.  Set the autopilot to climb on a fixed heading.  Switching to bypass saw Torque drop and ITT go up, switching back to normal saw torque increase again and ITT drop. Presumably fuel consumption also went up but did not check that.

That is as expected, bypass mode redirects the intake air via an indirect route that is designed to avoid sucking in rocks and sticks on take-off or ice in severe icing conditions.  In normal mode,  the PT6 just sucks air straight into the compressor from outside.

First your link to the POH gave me security warning. But I downloaded it anyway and it seem like a valid pdf file.

Second I disagree since the problem mentioned with the previous version is not present in the MSFS version. Also I now got a checklist.

Tried to buy it but couldn’t find a way to checkout on their website without having a PayPal account!

PayPal used to give you a route to use a CCard. Maybe they have changed, but I doubt it.

copy and paste from website;

  • Multiple Gateways

When considering which payment gateways to use on our website, the choice is narrowed down to 5 most universal ones: Visa; MasterCard; PayPal; Discover; Stripe.

Did you try adding to the cart and checking out from there ?

For anyone still considering - note that this special may be about to expire.

I did use the cart option although I was on a mobile device as I wanted to make use of the offer but was away this weekend

Thanks, I found out what it was; SU10 beta’s WT G1000 hasn’t been properly integrated into the Kodiak yet. When I went back to the Marketplace version everything was ok.

It looks like the Credit card checkout option only works with PayPal on the desktop version, not on the mobile site.

I have just gone to pay and the price is back to $29.99 so they wont be taking my money today.

I don't have much luck!

For 20 bucks that's a steal.  I think everyone has it already though LOL!

€29.99, no (at least that is what it indicates today)? Isn't that ~$30 +/-? Still not terrible, but 50% higher than you may have anticipated.

It was on sale - that's what the thread was about - but it was short lived.  Even at it's regular price it's a great addon.

New Kodiak owner...what settings do you guys use for short runway landings?
I have tried full flaps, 50% throttle & speed in the 80's on approach but still bounce several times when landing.

With full flaps and gross weight / ISA conditions I typically touchdown just above the end of the white arc... and use reverse prop pitch after wheels on the deck.
