August 9, 20223 yr I see Pointsoft have released their latest version of Pro-ATC/x now with speech recognition. Called Pro-ATC/SR. I'll give it a go anyway seeing as I'm used to their earlier version(s), just hope it's better supported this time. See here. Edited August 9, 20223 yr by Sparkrite

A big plus, I thought, was the option to add regional voice packs for Pilots and controllers, foreign accents when flying outside the US added to the realism. YBCG
August 12, 20223 yr Not only that I found the instructions not reliable at all giving nonsense vectoring... I wonder if this was fixed. I always go back to RC4... Shom MSFS2024 running on Win 11, 4K screen, Z790 AORUS ELITE AX-W, i9-14900K, MSI 3080Ti, Corsair 2x32GB 6000 MHz, 1+2TB M.2 NVMEs

Ray,why did I expect no other comment from you 😉 In the meantime, everyone knows how much you are in love with RC4 (why ever...) You should take off your rose-tinted RC4 glasses - and be open for new things! kind regards, ggerolamo

I’m monitoring the discussions on those ATC programs that are compatible with P3D. So far I’ve read nothing that suggests any are better than RC4. Ray (Cheshire, England). Firstly, I am a member of AvSim just like you and have been since March 2002. My moderator status is separate. Second, RC4 is free and I gain nothing by mentioning it. I provide support on the RC4 forum. Are you a developer of one of the products being discussed here? If so, it’s called healthy competition. If you’re not then kindly keep your advice to yourself. August 13, 20223 yr Yeah RC4 actually has really great functionality, only it's UI lets it down somewhat. It would be nice if some dev could pick it up and give the UI an overhaul. Having said that I know what it's like digging into other people's development, it can be a spagetti mess and super easy to break more than fix. Cheers Ryzen 5800X clocked to 4.7 Ghz (SMT off), 32 GB ram, Samsung 1 x 1 TB NVMe 970, 2 x 1 TB SSD 850 Pro raided, Asus Tuf 3080Ti P3D 4.5.14, Orbx Global, Vector and more, lotsa planes too. Cheers Compared to FSHud, the interface is stream-lined. Just a small block of real estate in the corner. I don't see a need to improve that. Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Cheers I run RC4 on a networked PC and a free utility ShowText displays all pertinent info in a small box. Far better than the display on the main PC. The source code is not available. Maybe if some clever person can reverse engineer the VB executable it could be looked at. That would require the developer’s permission of course. Ray (Cheshire, England). August 13, 20223 yr Out of all the new ATC Add-ons I still prefer PFE. I personally found PF3/E to be the best of the bunch, far preferable to RC4 plus it's still available, the developer still works on it, it's cross platform and the developer is open to feedback for improvements. I haven't seen anything in FSHUD or PointSoft that surpass it and in some cases it actually seems like a step back. Out of the original ATC Add-ons only one is still actively developed. PFE still has the limitations in terms of you need to enter your desired FP altitudes but handles just about everything else remarkably well. One of those largely unknown gems in the FS world that people perceive as being too complicated when it's actually a couple of click process to set up a flight. But sadly if it requires any end user interaction at all it is too much for some LOL. Edited August 13, 20223 yr by psolk Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
