Eaglesoft Citation XLS+ for P3DV4/5

He did not specifically state that the procedures mentioned are only possible using their product. He simply stated that it is capable of complex procedures that would place it firmly in the "study level" category (as defined by flightsim enthusiasts).

Oh, and please do not tell me where or what I can post in this forum.

You’re reading the wrong reply of his and are unfamiliar with their past statements on this forum. And I didn’t tell you not to post, it was purely a suggestion.

OK guys, the developer has clearly made his decision on which way to go w/r/t nav database support and is not seeking further inputs.

Whether he's rewarded or soundly spanked for that decision will be a call left to the market, which will send a clear and unambiguous message in the form of sales numbers.

So let's let the market do its thing and focus on something else, please.

I have one question, I'm sure you know the RXP/Flight 1 GTN 750 which is based on the airac cycle of the real Garmin GTN Trainer software, which gets updated once a year or something like that. Even if it is not up to date most of the time, you can still enjoy it and fly without any issues, even though it doesn't support Navigraph. Will your FMS at least provide a current airac cycle, which will be updated maybe all 3 years? Because some other developers require Navigraph, and if you don't have it you have an airac from 2013, which is super old. If this isn't possible, may you add a RXP/Flight 1 GTN 750 integration, for users of this one? If you need a RealNav subscription just to fly this plane, it is much too expensive, as you have to pay double the pric for Navigraph and RealNav. If there is an airac cycle provided, which is at least not too old, then you can make use of the plane for sure. 😀

Regards,

We used to fly real world right seat with a "Charter Pilot" friend who loaded us down with boxes of "Non Current" US Terminal Procedures as he had just received boxes of "Current" US Terminal Procedures Books. That was necessary for his IFR and Charter Operation at substantial cost. What we have provided in the past when using a third party subscription DB is simply include an "out of date DB which is quite safe in sim with the caveat those who require "Current DB" should "Subscribe". Either way, there is no gain to us, only to those who sell DB subscriptions.😎

The market will indeed reward or penalize us as it always has and we're fine with that. Interested parties may not feel compulsion to the "most current" DB but those who do have such compulsion may simply subscribe to enhance their hobby. We doubt those will quibble over 40 - 45 annually will feel much pain.😎

Hot Start's Challenger 650, which includes hands-down the most accurate rendition of a PL21 system, does all of this using Navigraph.

Unfamiliar with that product which is probably why it is meaningless to us. Edit, just looked it up and of course it's X-Plane which we do not develop for.😎

A payware dev is using this forum to promote their product, which is fine. But then they’re basically trafficking in misinformation by implying that only their nav data product supports various procedures. This needs to be called out. If you don’t like this, feel free to stop reading or replying to this thread.

Chapstick, we've never said our choice of Nav DB is the only provider of various procedures so the false accusation may now be dropped.😎

Thank you so much for your response, that is nice to hear. I'm a Navigraph user and was shocked when I heard that first, but if you provide an outdated airac cycle of Real Nav Data it is okay for sure, as 4 new airac cycles cost 39 USD, and this is not too expensive, and it is also not a subscription, it is a one time purchase from what I heard. (you could also spend this for high quality sceneries and recieve 4 airac cycles). My plan is going to be, that I buy the Bombardier Challenger 605, which is the plane I'm waiting for a long time, and will buy these 4 airac cycles at a different time, and then I should be able to fly with them for a long time period. For one AddOn I don't need the most up too date airac, but the most important thing is, that the majority of the waypoints is available.

It is very good to see you finally able to release something for the 64bit market. I have felt that the only aircraft type I was missing in P3DV5.3 was a very good modern corporate jet. I hope that the XLS will fill that void. Yout Citaion X that I used in  FS9, FSX and P3DV3 is still my favorite corporate jet. I will purchase it.

I remember Eaglesoft aircraft of many years ago. They were good. Looking forward to the next creations.

Our understanding is both Navigraph and Real Nav use the same basic data source. The differences appear to be in the "marketing/packaging".

Does that mean a Navigraph customer can still download an AIRAC update file and manually insert it in the aircraft's files rather than using the AIRAC updating application often incorporated by other developers?

Have had several 32 bit Eaglesoft planes in the past and have been hoping that you would finally get into the 64 bit arena with a quality corporate jet.

I say welcome back and hope that your beta testing will be quick and smooth so that those of us who aren't so concerned about updating our navigation data frequently will finally have an Eaglesoft jet to fly again in 64 bit LM P3D.

Thanks for your support Greg. The Pre/Post Pandemic has taken its toll on the FS Community and we've all seen much change. We considered dropping out of Development for a time.  We now intend to further the enjoyment factor for those who wish to participate with our products.😎

No, a DB, though written from same source materials differs according to writers structure choices. No mixing/matching is allowed.😎

Steve, your post is like fresh air to us as folks have a tendency to major on minors at times. We are hoping for a smooth process and release as well. We should mention that our intent is that one license will work whether P3DV4 or P3DV5. Testing continues and we'll keep folks updated...😎
