XP12 clouds & Haze

Featured Replies

Over the west coast of Norway with downloaded Ortho.

Looking West towards the sea.  Dull under an overcast layer. In the distance the sky can be seen clear, but the sea/sky horizon is very realistically hidden in haze.

another view to the West.  Where the overcast layer ends, broken clouds can be seen. Patches of low cloud/haze over the sea hiding the horizon.

heading north, closer to the clearance in the weather.  Mountains in the distance suitably hidden in haze. Some small patches of cloud center right low over the mountains.

Over Scotland heading east towards the morning sun.  Two layers of clouds, a lower cumulus layer with an alt-cumulus layer above. Again the haze effects in XP12 are superb.

They do look good. The third shot is my favorite.

Coming out the other side of the weather.  If they can get this quality in the first release, I'm excited!

The first set, for overcast looks great!  Exactly as I've seen while flying irl.  The second ones with the cumulus are ok but so very soft and lack any details....  this is the same issue in MSFS.  And as a person who is flying near them a lot irl, it's like "eeeeek" when I see that.  Since XP is so new I have hope that LR can improve on the look of them over time.

Some more resolution would be welcomed in both XP12 and MSFS, but it's the way the light is filtering through the clouds that impresses me with XP12.  The light levels are just about perfect.

Also the light that finally reaches the ground through the clouds looks just right.

No question, as I've seen so far in my setup, that this environment is amazing.

I still, however, would like an ability to add and reduce haze levels.
