Sales of PMDG 737-700 exceeded even most optimistic forecast

No. I captured that scene in the XP12 demo. I'll attach another below. There are of course bad-looking areas of scenery in MSFS. But here's the difference: Bad-looking scenery is the rule, rather than the exception, in XP12. Bad-looking scenery is the exception, rather than the rule, in MSFS.

It's almost like MSFS and XP emphasise different aspects of simulation

I am sure there will be comments on the other forum that will claim that  the roads in this  scenery are supposed to look like that....LOL

Yes, like Tiger Woods and I emphasize different aspects of golf.

Not yet. I *think* America is coming next but don't quote me on that.

For NZ and a chunk of E Coast of Canada I'm using pure Ortho without overlay.

But most of my flying is in Europe as that's where most of my planes are in FSE.

When I was flying in P3D, I was restricted to flying in the US, some places in Europe and that was about it. What separates MSFS from yesterday's flight sims, is now I can fly all over the world, and it looks pretty card good. Just this morning I have done three flights in New Zealand in the Kodiak, and the scenery and default airports looked fine.

I had most of the world set up pretty well in XP11 but I'm waiting for several products to either be updated for XP12 or for alternatives.

The thing is MSFS and XP offer different, complementary experiences. To fly in areas where I have it set up I might choose the better systems and flight modelling and wider range of planes of XP. For areas where I don't have good coverage or for flights where pure visuals matter I can choose MSFS.

Back on topic: Is the PMDG 737-700 available on XBox yet? If sales have been so robust with the PC version, I'm sure they'll skyrocket even further when their 737 is available on XBox (if it's not already).

It's not yet on the marketplace at all. They want all the cash for themselves 😄

Laminar Research customer -- Asobo/MS customer -- not an X-Aviation customer - or am I? 😉

I wonder if the somewhat disastrous experience with the DC-6 XBox version on the Marketplace has made them cautious about putting new stuff on there.

Yeah, probably. My guess is that they are still satisfied enough with the sales in their own store they don't feel pressured to go marketplace. But I'm fairly certain they're looking forward to it.

If the upcoming WASM changes/fixes will allow them to create a proper XBox version of a 737 I imagine they would LOVE to release that, but I'm guessing they need to be word not allowed sure it would work properly

I did that in P3D what an ordeal to download, install, configure and update.  I had lots of ORBX FTX regionals (not that I could use them except at night when I could turn autogen down to Sparse, and I had a good machine for its time), airports, planes, etc.  It was good for its time but compared to one-button install MSFS (OK, then copy your Community Folder backup in and you're good to go)  it's a royal pain--but we know that many who dabble in this hobby enjoy the tinkering...at least for a while 🙃

OMG. That is terrible. I though you were fooling around with that picture. There is no way I could use a simulator that looks like that. Looks like the latest and greatest... from 1992.

I never tried XP. Got bit years ago trying Sierra Pro Pilot. Every time I think about trying XP,  my experience with Pro Pilot comes to mind. I'd be highly upset if I had bought XP12 and seen that when it launched. Definitely a non starter for me. It could leak real jet fuel on my carpet, and it still wouldn't be realistic enough looking like that.  I'll stick with the serious simulator.

Better flight modeling of XP 11, oh please, not again with the word not allowed.
