How to Get the Windows 11 22H2 Update

Featured Replies

Well. This is pretty standard. Expected some fancier hack than this —>

If your device is ready, you can go to Settings > Windows Update and click the Check for updatesbutton. If it's ready, you'll just be able to click "Download & install" and be on your way.

EDIT but well, it works that way, just downloading. as simple as that

My years of using Windows tells me to never update until it’s either mandatory or blessed by the community as a whole.

No issues whatsoever since Win11. Most stable and performant OS ever

The 22H2 update is not appearing for me... I assume they are rolling it out in a gradual fashion?

Updated, no issues.

Can we drag and drop to the taskbar yet?  My most missed feature from W10.

Yay!    Thanks for the response.  I will look to trigger my download just for that.

I still have 21H2 of Windows 11, may never be offered 22H2.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

I installed this update but every time I start my PC I still can see the same update is available again. I reinstalled it 3 times already. Update page shows this update was installed successfully but on the next PC start next day I see this same u[date is available again. It stuck in a loop.

I finally installed 22H2. Like so many others on the Avsim VR subforum said, it kills fps compared to 21H2 in VR (but not if you aren't in VR (because HS only turns on in VR). The cure is to turn off HolographicShell.

I believe this is not true with Oculus headsets, i.e. they don't turn on HS. But true WMR headsets do turn HS on when WMR starts up, like Reverb G2).

None of this applies in 21H2, only in the new 22H2. (People online are saying that Microsoft is now pushing Holographic Shell forward. Apparently in a power play vs. META).
