October 2, 20223 yr Navigraph acquired Simbrief nearly 2 years ago. I had high hopes for this. Unfortunately since then (maybe I am wrong) there is no roadmap or any plans for the future development of SimBrief. While I love Simbrief, I think there is still huge room for improvements, new features, etc. I thought that Navigraph acquisition will let Simbrief to gain more money for development. For now I do not see this, shame

March 30, 20242 yr If i dont want to fly with real weather - is it possible to define in Simbrief how the weather conditions should be? For example if i want to fly with the MSFS standard weather, few clouds, no winds... Prior to buying Simbrief, Navigraph did not have much of a flight planning component, so SB was not really a “competitor”. SB added functionality that did not previously exist. It was a “no brainer” acquisition on Navigraph’s part. There was a partnership even before the merger, as SB depended on Navigraph for up-to-date AIRACS. What SB misses at times is runways that are active with a tailwind component. ive been flightplanning (for a job) for well over a decade, even lido, sabre/cae for example has issues. It all depends on the person running the inputs and how good they are. As flightplanning system is only as good as the inputs you give it. Edited March 30, 20242 yr by fluffyflops

I asked for "neutral" weather calculation, e.g. flying with zero wind and clouds. Or with yesterdays weather which i would like to setup manually. Lately I started to set the plan (A to B) in the MSFS planner before creating the SB-plan and often it uses other runways. Just curious. Not really: Simbrief provides you with a flight plan based on real flight routes. Simbrief does not create routes based on the weather. In real life, a dispatcher creates a route based on the weather data, especially tailwind or as little headwind as possible to save time and fuel. Simbrieb does not do this. It's often worth flying a longer route to take advantage of favorable winds. That's something Simbrief can't do. However, the problem with runways that are different in the MSFS is mostly due to the MSFS. But note: in the real world, it is not so rare to be assigned a different runway than planned. Reprogram your route as you would in real life, don't complain. It's just the way it is. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
