Recently upgraded to a 12900K CPU but still using a Zotac 1080ti with 3x1080P monitors and get around 30FPS with most sliders turned up. Dev mode shows GPU limited, no surprise!

 

Will be getting the 4090 to take it to the next level.

I’ll honestly be surprised if 1) anyone can get one at retail and 2) it actually makes THAT much of a difference over what we’re seeing with the current cards…

I'd be more surprised if anyone here has a case that can fit a 4090. They are ridiculous in size

I think I’m going to cave and end up buying one. I know it’s ridiculous in size and price but should be good for the next 5 years and MSFS friendly.

I just upgraded to 5800 X3D and 3090 Ti for less than what a 4090 costs. I’m going to wait at least a year now before I change my entire platform.

I've been ridiculed by friends for going for it and I don't care. I never had a brand new top of the line GPU before. I'm stoked af.

If you already gave a 3080Ti or higher, I can't see it helping.

Ai and LOD is very much CPU limited, especially on the ground.

At 4K I'm still CPU limited on the ground even with DLSS.

A 4090 will be overkill with current CPUs unless maybe you're using realky wide resolutions that add up to massive Ks !
