Oh I totally misread that and thought you had a 4090. Yeah the DX12 memory optimizations/performance and being GPU limited make for a great smooth experience.  

Just as an FYI the 4090 more or less doubles FPS in the Varjo Aero. It’s the one place it shines. 

I think we need more benchmarks with Zen4, Raptor Lake, Ada Lovelace and RX7000 using advanced airliners in major hubs to have a clear picture of all possible scenarios. Currently an AM5-Rig looks like a very good option, especially due to the socket longevity and possible X3D upgrades down the road.

As I have just recently purchased a B660 Mobo, I might opt for a 13700/4090 combo while keeping my DDR4 mems for the moment.

Well, I'm flabbergasted this was possible with FenixA320 at EDDF Asobo bad optimised airport with AIGAIM at 60 percent I get 35 Frames at heavy rain and OC clouds and SUPER SMOOTH Experience. I mean, panning, taxiing takeoff all butter. Above FL030 (3000FT) almost everywhere 45 to 50 fps!

I'm now GPU bound (97% at 3090). My AMD cpu 7900x sits at roughly 30%usage and some of the 24processors are even almost not used.

I have undervolted my cpu (PBO2 with -25 curve optimised) , temps are average at 65celsius and variating between 40 and 80 Celsius. Clockspeeds go up to 5.5GhZ but mostly below this (between 3.0 and 5GhZ). 

Windows 11 22H2 HAGS ON. 

This is a huge jump up from 10900k! 

I can recommend using AMD as probably the high caches are really helping out.

Thanks! Just shared here because lots of people have questions regarding the new AMD/Intel series

I'm assuming most of us with 3080/3090's should just be upgrading the CPU instead of GPU for now.
Until there are definitive benchmarks for the 4080/4090, I'm just planning on upgrading the CPU like he did here.

Not sure when though, probably wait until next year even for the CPU. Going to wait until 5xxx series for the GPU (at the earliest).

Those tests at the msfs forums are odd.  He's getting less fps in 2k than in 4k. Doesn't sound right.

I'm looking for a good deal on a 5800X3D, final upgrade of my rig before I would have to change everything.
I started my AM4 build with a R9 3900X and an RTX 2080 Super. Probably 4-5 years ago. I think I'll go AMD on the next one as well, as the AM5 platform should be relevant for 4-5 years at least.

I'm also CPU bottlenecked when in complex scenery and the frame rates drop to 45-55. Above that it's GPU limited.
