Close enough...

It depends what you mean by best. 😛

If best means most realistic, the Kodiak is probably the best choice, although it’s not without a couple of issues/bugs currently that can detract from its realism.

If you mean easy to get started and fly, then the default Caravan is probably the best.

If you want old school analog gauges, then the Black Square Caravan is best.

If fast is best, then the TBM or anything with twin engines is for you.

My favourite is the MilViz PC-6, its engine management is pretty simple perhaps not that realistic but I think thats the same for all MSFS Turboprops.

It flys well.

I  would like it more if they actually brought out the steam gauge version though

Thanks for the suggestions. Would go with the TBM, but do not like the glass cockpit. Btw, I already know how to fly in general, (both real world and sim). I want to learn engine management specific to turboprops. I think I will go with the steam gauge King Air.

My system specs: Intel [email protected] - 5.2 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 32GB  DDR4  RAMNoctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler,1TB Seagate SSD, 4TB Seagate HD, Windows 10, Asus 32 inch monitor, Saitek Yoke, Throttle Quadrant, Rudder Pedals and Trim Wheel     Sims: MSFS2020      Preferred Aircraft  Black Square Bonanza, and Baron, A2A Comanche, PMDG DC-6, Red Wing L1049

Following this thread as a good initial question...

I prefer steam gauges though..

I think that's an excellent choice! I'm having so much fun with this one, and really appreciate the system depth. Bit of a learning curve compared to the Caravan and the Kodiak, but once that is overcome this one is a joy to fly.

I might add that in collaboration with the freeware developer JD there's some significant changes to the flight model as well as all the other enhancements vs default. The only thing that remains is pretty much the exterior and sounds. But - there's an excellent sound package available for a small fee which really bring those turboprop engines to life.

Majestic Q400 Dash 8 is apparently coming for sure now and one was very well rec'd in P3D.

Which developer is that? I've only heard of the Dash 7 SWS/Pilot's collaboration which is in it's final stages of development.

Majestic - they've been around for years, they just don't produce different planes. They stick with just the Dash I guess. A bit odd, but they are masters at that one plane.

Thanks. I might have used their Q400 in FSX, can’t remember exactly. Apparently they announced their plans for working on a MSFS version in August 2020.

For simple to fly I would suggest the Piper Seneca by Carenado or the Justflight Turbo Arrow PA28. The Kodiak is study level. and so may not as accessible (I don't have it so  I'm not sure about that).

These are turbo charged pistons, not turbo props.  Totally different.

King Air Steam Gauge.

I've watched a very interesting video on the Analogue Kingair and it's far from simple. I almost bought it but it frightened me off. Looks terrific though. They should change their name from Black Square to Back Arts.😁

It seems like they're getting closer or at least sound more committed but it's not really clear at all as to when.  An update is overdue it would appear when Kroswynd said an there would be an information update but that was back in August:

You might want to check out the NextGen EMB-110. It's a simple twin turboprop.
