So everything is entirely subjective?

Modern quantum physics seems to be hinting more and more that way, recently.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

It really isnt there is widespread consensus for much of it amongst academics, its just that its a set of theories that are created to explain certain states of matter time space and reality that dont fit with the classic scientific method, much of it only stands up by not being disproved  rather than being proved

From everything I'm reading here I think we may all be full of it.

That's a far higher quality interpretation than your previous one. 🤣

My subjective reality is that I linked to a particular article.

It appears that your observation of that article, went askew somewhere.....

Quantum uncertainty? 🤔

Maybe the universe is overflowing with aliens, all living in incompatible subjective realities.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

I'm not sure.

By the way, I think there is a house in Würzburg, Germany, with a plaque which says "Werner Heisenberg may have been born here".

Great thread. But none of this explains how we can know if the cat is dead or alive without opening the box.

Just shake the box and see if it complains. Why do physicists have to make everything so complicated?

Maybe because those things are so complicated?  I was taking a course in quantum mechanics with the Great Courses once.  I quit because I could bever wrap my head around the concept of a physical object being in two places at the same time.  I sent the course back with this note:  YYUR YYUB ICUR YY4ME.

I meant to post this one earlier when the Hubble Deep field image was posted which is indeed monumental But this Deep field from the James Webb is Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaugh😭

There was a weird thought that I had when I was much much younger.

The gist of it was, that many things in the universe, including the speed of light, were/might-be instantiations of a sort of shared human subconscious that forms and informs our reality.

(We are boltzmann brains!) 🧠

Essentially, everything around us is the way it is because we, in our shared species consciousness, collectively wishes it so.

Aliens, with different thought processes and coming to different conclusions, might wish themselves into realities that don't coincide with ours.

It should be obvious at this point, I'm talking pretty much mumbo-jumbo and metaphysics!

But on the other hand, our real physics is beginning to sound a bit out there as well. It seems like almost anything is a possibility.

So let's go For Broke! Maybe we'll only encounter aliens, when enough of us decide that there really are aliens, thus collectively hallucinating ourselves into a reality in which that is indeed the case..... 🤪

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

exegesis

I'll give props for even knowing the word "exegesis."  I only know it because of my seminary studies.

I learned early on not to use that word when speaking with folks who aren't Biblical scholars.  Exegesis slipped out of my mouth when speaking with an elderly evangelical woman about fifty years ago. Her immediate comment in return was...

"Extra Gesis*!" There ain't no such thing. We don't need any durn "extra Gesis*" young man, one is enough!

*Nota bene": obscured the spelling so as not to trip the blasted naughty word filter. I'm sure Jehova is not amused by this..
