December 7, 20223 yr Does the Wilga also come with "russian style" attitude indicator? (the one with moving plane, and horizon fixed) How does if flies compared to the beaver? I'm not really a bush plane lover, but tempted to buy it, seen many of them when I was in belarus flying over my head, but "someone" was too scared and forbid me to get on one. At least now I can try it on fs2020! Edited December 7, 20223 yr by ConairMSFS
December 7, 20223 yr Well, what with the write up and pictures from SD, and Waldo's details of the beautiful farm strip included for free, that just about seals the deal for me. I'm off to get it! Looks like it is easily 35 dollars worth of fun to me! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's. Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

I haven't had a chance to explore all variants but I believe this one should fir the bill: Wilga 35A – Standard ▪ Virtual Cockpit: Factory ▪ Language: Polish ▪ Gauges: Metric ▪ Avionics: Legacy ▪ Engine: AI-14RA (260 HP) ▪ Gear: 20” Tundra Tires ▪ Ski Kit: Optional ▪ Exhaust: Unregulated ▪ Smoke Generator: Optional Edited December 7, 20223 yr by sd_flyer Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). December 7, 20223 yr When does the Draco variant come out? 😉 I'll grab this as soon as I have time to get to the computer. GF is a great dev. Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light

December 8, 20223 yr Looks great, but steep price imo. Does it have state saving or maintenance? I don't need a virtual guitar or hammock. The paddle is a cool idea though. Probably be one to add to my wishlist and keep an eye out for a sale. Edited December 8, 20223 yr by s0cks

Copy and paste of what the dev said on the main forums ... Quote Just to name a few notable Engine Realism details: Flooding the engine on startup if you overprime Running your Air compressor dry on startup Engine stress from thermal mis-managment (cowl and oil cooler) Cylinder warping from keeping cowl flaps open during a drive Carb icing To name a few realism details to the cockpit: Removal of left+right tanks in the 80 American import versions as the real world ones did not have them. Ensure you watch fuel levels and switch tanks. This caught me off guard many times! Shifting cargo with intertia (fold down rear seats and you can watch it move as your pitch and roll) Shifting loose items (grab handles, sun glasses, even the lantern moves if you took off with it still attached) Plug in headset cables that muffle cockpit audio. One of my favorite features from A2A’s172 in FSX and i knew i needed it in the Wilga Emissive lights in the cockpit dim as your voltage drops Alternator kicks in to charge your battery after you reach the proper RPM threshold like the real bird Notable mentions: Custom UV night lighting simulaton Custom windshield wipers You can see surfaces flutter with power setting. For example, the engine cowling cover, tail and elevator vibrate as you cycle rougher RPM settings Gauge needles in the cockpit vibrate FM custom code overrides: Ground handling saw some improvements across all different tire variants Floats and water physics were totally custom on top of Asobo’s simulation I lost track of it all. There are so many details we put into it. Can’t wait for you guys to discover them all. Overall, I think its more fun to leave it to the community to deem an aircraft “Study Level” rather than a dev. At this point it’s a marketing term that gets thrown around. So i’ll leave it to you guys and gals to give it that title if you think we met your expectations

So no then, which seems a shame given that even freeware modders have been doing it. I don't want to take away from GotFriends, as they seem like a great bunch of peeps and looks like they have packed a lot into it, but I would like my GA aircraft at that sort of price to at least have state saving and maintenance.
December 8, 20223 yr Yeah, my understanding is you can do things like run the air supply dry or damage the engine but that is fully reset when you exit and start a new flight. That said, state saving problems are a major source of complaints in other addons (messes with switches in the 247D, stuffs up the AP in the JF Arrows etc) so maybe they are just holding off on that aspect for now.
December 8, 20223 yr These both deserve their own thread really. They are stunning, truly stunning in every way. December 8, 20223 yr Wilga is probably the first Addon that has surpassed my expectations (which were high anyway) since the Asobo Husky, which I didnt really have great expectations for but it turned out quite well. Ill be flying the Wilga a lot, it just feels right.

Although we still know there is work to be done on the sim itself (and Asobo and WT are certainly doing it), some third party developers are throwing everything they can into the capability of their aircraft releases, and the Vison Jet and this Wilga are shining examples of that. They are both outstanding pieces of work, and some of the best aircraft I have owned in any sim. I take back my words on the price of the Wilga - for £30, and with the included scenery, it is well worth it. Edited December 8, 20223 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
