I don't get these as emails now, but they come through my office fax machine.  Mine usually claim to originate in from a Canadian law firm and it's someone who died and there are no inheritors other than me, supposedly I am a very distant relative.  The best one claimed to be a woman who had been married three times, each time was purely for money and she had amassed millions of dollars in wealth, but now she is terminally ill.  On her doctor's desk, she found my business card and decided that she wanted to set things right and get rid of her ill-gotten wealth.  Because she was in Canada and a Canadian doctor had my card on his desk, I must be a really good person, so I should inherit her wealth.  Riiiiiiiiiight.  It was a full page of nothing but bull [word not allowed].

I haven't received any for some time now, but it used to be a regular event. They were usually from the 'lawyers'  acting on behalf of a series of Nigerian 'Princes' who had died, leaving vast fortunes. Because of the state of that country, they needed to move out the money to somewhere safe, like my bank account in London. I would of course receive a big commission for giving them access to my account. 

I rather miss them, because the wording was always so amusing.

I feel left out.  I've never gotten letters like that.  I've always been left out when the opportunity to amass an easy fortune.

If you use an email client and put these messages into the Junk/Spam folder without opening them, they will soon stop arriving in your Inbox.
Opening them will prevent this from happening and replying to them will only result in even more arriving.

 

There is no way I'd treat this stuff as junk. These messages are priceless. And, as you say, just don't click on anything.

If you receive these regularly, could you keep a list of their Email addresses and then forward the mail from one sender to another sender on the list?

Sometimes it's all good... believe it or miss out...

They can be a good read, assuming you enjoy fiction.  That one I received regarding the wealthy, terminally ill woman was a literary masterpiece.
