January 23, 20233 yr Hello, I just purchased this fantastic product (used to fly here a lot in P3D) and to my greatest disappointment, the scenery has parked static planes in the gates. Anyone has an idea how to get rid of them? I fly with PSXT, hence those statics are like a dog's fifth leg. Maybe we can delete some models in the package if someone points the way. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). January 23, 20233 yr Author The instructions on site are pretty much fuzzy for me, a person who just moved from P3D a month ago. Is there any standard procedure or manual for installation of such items? TIA. January 23, 20233 yr MSFS doesn't use the content.xml anymore as far as I know. I just put the downloaded folder in my community folder and that seems to be all that needs to be done David

It does, but there are very few reasons a user would need to mess with it -- the game mostly manages itself based on the load order rules for the VFS. One notable exception is Navigraph, which needs to disable the stock navdata to avoid duplicate entries, so it modifies content.xml in the installer. (This is why if you just remove the Navigraph package from your community folder without using the installer you get no navdata). January 23, 20233 yr 258 people downloaded this mod to a payware airport. What's the definitive solution to this problem as this must not be the only airport w/ this issue. Can this mod be applied w/ some editing to other airports that suffer from this? Seems like there ought to be a control w/ any payware airport to set the number of static aircraft, but how you could apply that w/o a proprietary installer by the dev who produced the payware airport, which I guess means would not work thru the current MSFS Marketplace. Don't buy on marketplace - simple. OBRX, Contrail, Simmarket. However, I agree that user must have this option for customization as it had been a case for many years with previous sims. Meanwhile, I see now that in most cases with MSFS airports, statics are embedded into the main model file, so separating certain elements, such as static AI, is not easy these days. Inbuild is the only developer that I'm aware of that allows to customize. 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.

January 24, 20233 yr Glad to see my file being shared and used for those who want to get rid of statics! I know it isn't perfect as it may cause issues with native AI taxiing and planes disappearing at certain gates, but at least the jetways will work if you park at those spots, and it is 100% compatible with PSXT given the gate positions are close to the real-life spots (based on the P3D coordinates). I hope it works for those who have already installed it! Flightbeam's KPDX was one of the earlier payware airports that was released. I can only assume that the SDK wasn't mature enough at the time of development where it was simple to separate out the BGLs, and the developer (iBlueYonder) only worked to build an airport with statics as this was the "assumed" preference before any AI packages were made available. I do wish that they would go back and revisit the airport to create an official solution, but I hope that the package I put together works in the short term 🙂 Edited January 24, 20233 yr by AeroMaster12

I know that haven't and won't buy airport sceneries from the marketplace for the sole reason that scenery files are encrypted and you can't edit them. There are quite a few airports that have statics that can only be removed by manually editing the scenery files. It's not nearly as easy as it was with P3d using ADE. 21 minutes ago, AeroMaster12 said: Glad to see my file being shared and used for those who want to get rid of statics! I'm very thankful for that file, I bought PDX the day it was released and was very disappointed to see those statics with no option to remove them. So when you released that patch last July it was very much appreciated. Thank you! i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
