No Live Weather

Recommended Posts

What is absolutely crazy is that today, while parked on the ramp in the Hjet, I was seeing/hearing four different reports of weather. 1) MSFS Live weather metar for the airport; 2)  the weather shown in the Hjet G3000 on the waypoint information page; then I infused C) REX WF and got some consistency with A) & B) but some clear contradictions as well; and then ATIS did not match any of them closely.

I am still in search of a "fair weather friend".  It's only been 2 1/2 yeaas.......  (Fair as in a scae of: Horribile; Poor; Fair; Good; Excellent)

Good to know Asobo doesn't resolve issues over the weekend. Atleast now I can keep my expectations manageable.

I had a QNH of 3077 Hg in EHAM yesterday and ludicrous 25 knots wind.

Injecting Rex WF works for a while after which the sky gradually becomes clear again.

Sunday, 5th Feb was having constant METAR issue, was thinking something is broken on my end after the recent MSFS update. Glad to see it's not LoL

Issue detail: Loading into the sim, initially the METAR report (MSFS METAR window selected for the nearest airport) shows the current METAR report but 10-15 seconds later it resets to an old date (always 26th Jan). The in-sim weather appears wrong from the start, it rather matches what the METAR was like for the date it resets. Same occurs with different aircraft and on different airfields...

still no fixes since Thu. What a shame for Asobo/MS.

PS. Have they at least apologized?

They won’t say a thing about it. To do so would admit MS Azure servers had an issue and MS doesn’t want that to be public knowledge.

Instead of posting falsehoods, why not post a complaint on their webpage.....https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/online-services-monitoring/486800

True wisdom.  We have a cloud-based sim which depends on a billion things being just right in order to function, and MS/Asobo has kept the weather largely highly functional 99% of the time and now all of this whining about Asobo better get their act together and throw the whole thing into the toilet if live weather isn't current as the whole sim is useless.  Glad I have my expectations manageable as well.

I agree, the whining on this forum about everything, really gets old.

Indeed. Which is why I almost completely stopped posting here. Or on any flightsim forum... All those moaners everywhere spoil the fun I have with MSFS so I decided to leave the online word not allowed behind me. 'Online communication' (in all its appearances) has lost its appeal. I used to spend more time on forums etc. talking about flightsimming than actually flying but the balance has shifted completely. I think it's been over a month since I posted something here... Loving it. I feel liberated.

Have fun all.

REX Weather Force is NOT my "go to" choice but when flying on VATSIM, it's nice to have this backup available.  Asobo LIVE Wx down ? Simply hit "Clear Skies" and launch REX.  Presto > live weather to fly on VATSIM 👍

What are the downsides of REX comparing with MS default weather?
