No Live Weather

That's pathetic.

Meanwhile, with customers' money already taken, they can afford to spend as much time as they want without being financially punished.

  • Or the frequent, "Patience you must learn" comment. I hate when folks blindly defend something and stand on a hill for absolutely no reason. There are no pitch forks... no riots... just folks who want

  • Oh well, then clearly everyone else is doing it wrong including Asobo who have it listed as being under investigation. 🙄

  • True wisdom.  We have a cloud-based sim which depends on a billion things being just right in order to function, and MS/Asobo has kept the weather largely highly functional 99% of the time and now all

You realize they just had a bunch of layoffs at Microsoft...  You're not going to get the best when staff is cut short.  We need to count ourselves lucky the sim still works.

Wondering if they have been doing some upgrading to weather servers ... also had outage but been back on today and the cloudscapes have been fantastic.

Well, the Online Services Monitoring page now (2023-02-08) indicates that the status of Live Weather has returned to:

“Investigating”

Many are saying their fix from yesterday has regressed and basically ack to square one. Insane that tomorrow marks 7 days this has been going on.

Yep - I logged in twice today. The first time at MMUN and the second time at KIND. MMUN would not load. The METAR was correct but nothing else. Had the haze around the airport and that was it. KIND had the proper METAR, winds, and altimeter, but was missing rain. Waited about fifteen minutes and nothing popped in. A few minutes ago I logged in to a random field and after 2 or 3 minutes the weather loaded in and was correct. Very inconsistent behavior.

So I guess it's time to clock in some DCS hours while waithing for a more permanent METAR fix... 😅tch es what the METAR was for the date it resets. Same occurs with different aircraft and on different airfields. Quite an annoying issue.Loading into the sim, initially the METAR shows the actual weather (current) but 10-15 seconds later it resets to an old date (always 26th Jan). The in-sim weather appears wrong compared with the actual, it rather matches what the METAR was for the date it resets. Same occurs with different aircraft and on different airfields. Quite an annoying issue.

Weather is injecting for me again

I just took off from Tampa. It took live weather about 5 minutes to kick in after I started the flight.

Once I got the ATIS going, I compared it to the Tampa station on the Wundermap and it was spot on.

Yeah, If my next flight starts off CAVU, I'm going to check the metar against a real weather report to see if it is a delay with the weather loading into the sim, of if it is a delay in depicting the weather in the sim. It might be loading the correct weather right away and take a few minutes to start drawing it. I'm not too upset as long as it loads before I call catering. 😉

Since both wind and BM pressure (and sometimes proper visibility) are being loaded immediately, I presume that it's cloud generation that is deferred.

The problem is not caused by anything Asobo has done. It is not a bug in MSFS itself. According to a moderator’s post on the official MSFS forum, the problem has been identified as a caching bug in Azure. MS Azure engineers are working on the issue, and Asobo is waiting (like the rest of us) for a status update.

A few days ago when I didn't have weather, I logged out of MSFS from the main menu and signed back in again (that was probably the 1st time I've ever done so). It didn't seem to help at the time, but I have had live weather on my last 3 or 4 flights so maybe that did help?
