Yes, but I'm using Steam.

Me too. The download of the 1-2 GB base install inside Steam probably is inevitable, but the big in-game download can be avoided by pointing MSFS to the right directory when it asks where to store the game files. This way I could even switch from the MS Store version to the Steam version of MSFS without re-downloading.

In my previous post I got into a bit more detail, maybe you missed it with so much going on in this thread! (it was this one, just in case: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/630394-60-second-pause-is-back-begging-for-help/?do=findComment&comment=4923109 )

Again, sarcasm, it’s almost like an obsession with some people.

What does it matter if there’s a thousand pages?  Why does this bother you?

I would honestly like to know why certain people are obsessed with pages here.

I feel sorry for people who behave like this.

Probably because most IT folks would say this issue should of been solved in 1 or 2 pages.

This too is on my list of things to try, believe me it is.  Thanks.

Mr. Sky Pilot, please, can you just stop?  Nothing you have said is productive.  I'm now going to block you so I do not see any more of your posts, others will but I will not.

ok ok, anyway, good luck! I keep my fingers crossed! (no sarcasm - I know these things can be hard to solve at times)

Thank you, your's is a very good suggestion that I didn't know was possible.

Jack.  I wouldn't get wound-up over some of the replies.  You will just waste your energy answering them.
I would just skip over them and ignore them, and they need to do the same to this thread if they don't like the way you are handling it.

I really admire your perseverance.  Even if you have to resort to the re-installation of Windows and MSFS eventually, at least you are trying, and if you find the issue, it might just help someone else one day.

Social interaction?  Are you joking?  You honestly think that?  If so then you do not know me.

Reinstalling OS and MSFS is a grand starting point because as mentioned in one fell swoop it rules out a slew of potential sources of your troubles and just may solve the issue outright, and would be done in what amounts to several hours instead of the 8 days you're in now w/ no solution.  Plus, can just clean up an old registry and is the ultimate reboot.  Once again, you're obviously enjoying this time consuming and less than fruitful ritual or so it appears from the outside.

Come on Noel - don't be so mean!    Some of your threads on getting smoothness in the sim have gone on for ages, with loads of interaction and good information.

I read all of your threads to the end, even if I disagreed with your '30FPS is all you need' thing.

Don't say you didn't enjoy them.     If people don't like it or find it frustrating, why don't they just butt-out?  There is no harm being done to them.

It is said that some people spend hours trying to find the easy way to do something when they could have done it the hard way in minutes.

On my system I can completely uninstall/reinstall MSFS and all my addons in about 3 hours.

At some point one has to bite the bullet and admit the computer won this one.

The good thing in this thread is that the thread starter (looking at you, @Jack_Sawyer😉 ) reads all the answers, tries to be responsive, and follow the suggestions, as time permits. Of course he's following his own to-do list, and while the order in which he steps through it may not make sense to everyone, it would certainly be worse to just try every suggestion in the order they are posted on here - especially when 20 people are scrambling to give their best advice.

I've seen so many I-need-help-urgently threads, and few of them were as nice and orderly as this one 😉 In some of them the thread starter just disappears, they write unintelligible 3 word posts when asking for more details, or they reply in a rude manner when the solution isn't to their liking... Overall I'd say this thread is going rather well, I'm just curious to see what the solution will be in the end 😂

This is really the point:  if you want to solve this cryptic issue this is very likely going to yield the best results in the shortest time.  Jack doesn't seem to care about this and is clearly enjoying the current approach which may continue for another 8 days.

You haven't read all of my threads to the end else you would no longer make that comment 🤣
